Healthspan Zinc Defence Lozenges

Great taste and quality for chewable tablets. We tend to use them at the first sign of seasonal sniffles, and they’ve become a regular part of our household routine. Easy to take and pleasant flavour – much better than many alternatives we’ve tried.

Not the best taste, but okay. Keeping it in my bag as I tend to forget to take these things.

Lozenges taste fine, taken at the first sign of a runny nose, plus an extra 1000mg lipsomal C, usually means that's all I get. Next day back to normal. Far better than just C.

I've been convinced of the benefit of zinc lozenges when a cold infection threatens for a long time. These ones only contain zinc, with no vitamin C added, but it's the zinc that I think provides the protection for the throat. The price is rather high for 45 lozenges but they come from a respected well known brand. The flavour is minty and pleasant. They dissolve in the mouth over about three minutes and leave a feeling of having coated the mouth surfaces well. I can't claim that they have stopped a cold yet as I haven't caught one. The lozenges come packed in 5 press-out foil & plastic sheets inside a card box. I would like it if Healthspan did more to make their packaging more sustainable.

If you're poorly with a cold, flu or a certain Other Illness of Unknown Origin, zinc is so helpful... unlike sugar, which is dreadful. So adding oodles of sugar and sweeteners to something you take when you're poorly is such a strange decision. They taste nice and minty, and the zinc content is good, but if you're ill, the last thing we should be taking is sugar, so I had to knock off two stars.

At first it seemed to taste minty and then the flavour fades really quick. It tastes so disgusting that you have to chew extra fast just to get it down. Then eat something else really quick after to get the horrible taste out of your teeth and mouth. Yuck
