Banks 48701 Monster Exhaust System

Stainless steel construction is fantastic. However, it doesn't fit just right and they don't include everything on the instructions and are short 1 clamp. The instructions show 2 different pieces of pipe depending on if you have crew cab or mega cab. The longer mega cab pipe is there but not the shorter one. So I had to cut and modify the long one to fit. There's no way to make it hook up without it given where the hangars are located. Then the rear hangar wouldn't even come close so I had to modify another one of the pipe pieces. They also short you 1 clamp so you have to reuse or buy one.The sound while driving is fine. At idle it's throaty and louder and a lower tone and gives a vibration throughout the vehicle. The vibration from the low tone throaty noise goes away as soon as you move and increase the rpm's. I'm sure it's louder if you're behind the vehicle but since you're not... I don't care about that.My old exhaust had holes rusted in it and was robbing my mileage. I instantly got back a 2-3 mpg increase after installation, and a good catback will always a hp increase so overall I'm very happy with it. Just didn't like having to modify, bad lineup, short a clamp, and vibrating at idle.

This fit well, had to bend some of the support bars to position the tailpipe higher, (easy to bend) Everything I needed was included, and 4 clamps. Fit was what I expected. Sound was quieter than the blown out old factory muffler, but still sounds strong on acceleration. No drone on the highway. Great buy

Installed this on a 2005 Dodge RAM Diesel. The original had rusted out. Easy installation; heavy duty quality materials. The muffler is stainless steel. I would have expected this to include the 'Delete Pipe' for the catalytic converter, but I had to buy that separately. Overall a good buy and the truck sounds great. It did not increase the sound level from the stock muffler which is what I wanted.

This is an excellent bit of kit. The installation was easy and parts fit great. The sound is slightly louder than factory exhaust. Great value

The system fit well and was easy to install, however there is more drone at highway speeds than I would like to have. I have seen no improvement in mileage yet.

I received this item in a single box well packaged and in excellent condition. Installation of the Banks parts was simple however, removal of the old exhaust was a bear. Access to an air hammer with muffler tool and a Sawzall were essential. All of the Banks parts were well engineered and manufactured and fit perfectly. There are a few niggles with the instructions: The muffler is stamped with an inlet designation but the picture in the instructions shows the Banks logo backwards to reality. This may be a problem for some. The instructions call for use of 4 clamps and only 3 were supplied. Had to use an old clamp. The instructions call to align the tailpipe tip with the drain hole at the bottom. There is no drain hole.The Banks exhaust provides a pleasing mellow sound which is what I was looking for. There was no drone at highway speeds but my truck was unloaded. This may change when the trailer is hooked up as the muffler speaks a bit under acceleration. Overall, I am very pleased.
