Tachyon: Interactive Puzzle Book

Skeptical at first but it won me over in the end!
After completing journal 29, revelation and cypher files, I fancied a new challenge and so bought Tachyon. I saw it had some mixed reviews but didn't let it put me off.Overall, the individual puzzles in journal 29 are superior to Tachyon. Around 75% of Tachyons puzzles are incredibly easy (which makes it great for beginners) and there doesn't seem to be much of an order of puzzles getting harder as the book goes on like in J29.The individual puzzles are still enjoyable however so I would have given this a 4 star review based on those alone. HOWEVER... The ending to this book is incredible and very unexpected. No spoilers but its so clever how the authors have devised this ending and that's what made this a 5* review.Based on puzzles alone, J29 is a little cleverer but as a concept as a whole, Tachyon is superior to J29. I hope the authors do another book!

Fantastic interactive puzzle book, one of the best!!
I do a lot of these interactive puzzle books, Journal 29, Paper Labyrinth, Book 404, Codex Enigmatum, etc. and Tachyon is one of the best. An excellent set of challenges, which are all solved logically. Some are immediately obvious, some require more thought. It all depends on the solver though, and if one proves too tricky there is an online hint system which is slowly evolving as more people take the challenge. The authors are very quick to respond where other readers cannot help, so you are never stuck. As with other books like this when you have solved a puzzle you enter the result online and receive a code which will be used to help solve a later puzzle. What makes this book stand out is the excellent conclusion. I won't give any spoilers away so you can be as surprised as I was, but it is a feature that is unique to this puzzle book.Where pages require cutting there is a link to a pdf so you don't have to damage the book if you don't want to. Just make sure you print it at exactly the same size as the book!I can recommend this 100%

Addictive
This certainly isnt one for the kids. Some of the puzzles are fiendish. There is some clues available online but you do have to think outside the box , i am only half way through this and i have needed to use some of the online clues. This would make a great present for any puzzler that has access to a smart phone and the internet .

Daughter loved it
This is a serious puzzle book for the Cryptic analytical thinker. Daughter devoured the other book in this series and this one did not disappoint.Personally I didn't have a clue but the dog eared condition after just one week proved how much enjoyment she got from it!

Fantastic way to keep the mind at work
Great book with a range of difficulties in the puzzles. If you get stuck you can go onto the forum where there is a discussion board with hints for every puzzle.A couple of the puzzles I got really stumped on so had to email support for further advice. They replied within the day and with their help I was able to continue progressing.Would definitely recommend this book and cannot wait to see if there is a second one.

Best interactive puzzle book
If you like interactive puzzle books you have to get this one. I've had a few and i must say this is the best by far even better than journal 29 in my opinion and that's saying something. The puzzles are a range between easy and hard but i think if you have a scientific mind it certainly helps. The hints given on their web page point you in the right direction without spelling out the obvious answer. Cant wait for Tachyon 2.
