Easy Setup, Great WiFi, Very Nice Picture Quality
The projector comes in a sturdy box with a handle which makes it good for pack-up and storage when not in use.Unboxing shows the main contents of the box:- The projector which is protected by foam supports and a cover- The 100 inch screen which is made of a white silky material framed with black edging and grommets along the top and corners for hanging- The instruction manual- The accessories boxThe accessories box contains:- Power Cord (grounded 3-prong)- AV Cable (mini 4-connector jack to Audio L/R & video)- HDMI cable (not quite 5 feet)- Lens cleaning kit (swaps, screw driver + lint cloths)- Remote control (requires 2 AAA batteries)Setup was easy. The lens cap (which I couldn't find referenced in the instructions) is easier to remove if you adjust the focus knob so that the lens cover pushes out of its recessed position.Plug-in and power was straightforward. There is the main power switch on the rear and the "sleep" power switch on top.I haphazardly tacked up the screen onto a wall where it could hang down. Not the best job and I'd probably get some PVC and make a frame, but for testing it worked.I was pretty impressed with the quality of the screen and the stitching. So I think this'll be good for outdoor use.I tried 3 input modes:- HDMI from my laptop. This worked flawlessly and I was able to project my laptop onto the screen with good readability once I adjusted the focus and offset angle.- USB Connection. I'd purchased a Halloween stick and once I changed the source input and selected "play all" from the USB folder, the images played perfectly.- IoS Connection. This required that I allow the projector to join my WiFi network. Once this was done, I picked a YouTube video and simply cast this to the projector. Great results.Noise level: This projector isn't quiet. It's not disturbingly loud, but if it were for indoor use, I'd probably want my audio levels high enough to talk over fan noise. For outside use, I could care less. The fan will get lost in outside noise, but I'd still recommend external speakers. The audio is acceptable but through loud passages, the speaker / internal amplifier is over driven.All-in-all the picture quality is great. Easy setup, works per specs, and the range for projection on the 100" screen is about 10 feet.I was actually most impressed by the WiFi setup. There's a scan mode to detect WiFi signals. It picked-up mine and I simply input my Password and it got online. The IoS screencasting was immediate. So I'm looking forward to streaming some football tonight.

Seems like great value -- our family really likes the picture and big feel!
Nice unit, very much seems like it is worth the investment. I do have one comment that if I could understand more, would help me increase my rating from 4 to 5 stars. The picture is good, the sound is decent, and the system is pretty easy to use. But, for some reason - now and again - when we turn on the system instead of booting up with the menu screen, all we get is a screen of colored vertical lines and nothing seems to happen. I thought it might just be booting up, but I've left in this state for several minutes each time this happens, and it just sits there with no way to interact with the system; the buttons don't do anything. To overcome it I have to power it off, plus turn off the power supply in total -- let it rest and then turn it back on. Sometimes it comes back on right away, sometimes I have to run this cycle several times before the problem corrects itself. Is this normal --- or possibly am I doing something wrong (I really can't imagine what I may be doing wrong?) --- So I ask the question for some advice/help. Thx

Really NICE projector.
This is a FANTASTIC projecter. I love everything about it. It comes with the typical wires and cables, remote, etc... It has several ways to connect to it, including WIFI casting, which was super easy. And my favorite way! You've just to go into settings, scan for your WiFi network, and enter the password. Then if you have your casting device (I use my phone) connected to the same network, you can mirror or cast anything that's on your phone screen to it. I had intended on doing a video, but soon realized that I couldn't cast, and record at the same time, so pictures it is. It also has all the other typical ways to connect, HDMI, SD.. and all the others. The SOUND on this unit is GREAT. I was very impressed with volume as well as clarity. It has super a super clear picture, and vivid colors. It can project up to a 30 ft picture. It also comes with a 100in video screen, so you've got all you need to get started. I have a few other projectors that I use mostly for special effect decorating, and outside movies with the grandkids, but this is by far the best out of the bunch. It's larger of course, but it has much better sound, and is the only one I can connect to wirelessly. It is also more expensive than the others I have, but we'll worth the price. With the 3 year warranty, you can't go wrong.

Larger than and louder than our old Optima 1080P projector and wireless does not work well
Out of the box we were surprised how large this projector was and how loud the fan was. We were expecting a small LED powered projects. It is very easy to have part of the image in focus (one vertical area), but even during setup if found needed to adjust the focus so I could read words on different parts of the screen. For the wireless setup, I was not able to type in the name of my hidden network, so I have to unhide it to set it up. After that, screen mirroring from iphones and an ipad, it would connect and you could see the screen, but it would not update after that, so even though you start watching something, the image on the projector is still the one of you selecting the screen mirroring option. This was mean to be a good low end projector for a kids room, but is going back.

Perfect for Christmas window displays
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I want to contribute to the other reviews that helped me make the decision to buy this Dr J AK-40 projector. Requirements wise, everything checked out: native 1080P, 7200 lumens, 8000 contrast ratio, keystone adjustment, usb, microsd, hdmi physical connections, Bluetooth and Wifi connections, price. Added bonus was the screen that was included. And then add in the price. Sweet.I bought this specifically for Christmas display on our window. I set it up in our bedroom with a ladder as my stand. The included screen was perfect for projecting on the window, I wasn’t sure that it was. You can see for yourself on the pics and video attached.
