Piece of mind!
I’ve used Eve products for a while. This is one of the best functioning products they offer at a pretty decent price point.Keep in mind this uses a pretty rare battery type which could get expensive to replace further down the road. You’re typically going to get between 1-2 years of battery out of them, but will then have to shell out close to $10 for each battery.I connected them all to my home hub via HomeKit. 1 sec delay at the most, pretty awesome! Consider setting an Apple TV or HomePod close to them as they work though Bluetooth instead of wifi... otherwise they won’t get any signal to send info back to. They do not need a hub to work with the Apple ecosystem which is awesome! All in all great purchase!

Easy setup, Eve app works better than Home Kit.
Works very well once it is setup. It is easier to use Eve app for the initial setup and connecting to Home Kit. The Eve app also acts as a GUI front end for Home Kit . It alllows you to see and control most home kit accessories, and has a bettter layout

Eve Door/Window Contact Sensor
Overall, I'm pleased with these sensors. They are responsive but that's probably due to my thread coverage. However, as another person has pointed out, desgin flaw.... I'll quote the user:"The problem is the flat battery cover. It has two ears that fit into two slots in the body of the sensor and there is insufficient clearance. It takes a ridiculous effort to close the cover unless you remove some material from the ears. If Eve was concerned about gravity pulling the sensor off the cover they should have just reversed the orientation."The flat battery cover makes it a challenge to access battery even prior to adhering to door frame so imagine the challenge once installed. This is a design flaw that i hope will be addressed in future releases.

Works with HomeKit and very fast 👍
Very happy with this so far. Using to control a Hue bulb on what used to be unsafe dark steps in garage. You MUST UPGRADE firmware to latest version to get the sensor to work quickly with Homekit (threaded version). But once updated and automated with hue bulb, the light comes on instantly and I’m very pleased with speed. Small sensor is magnetic if you have a metal door. Includes 3m adhesive but I used Velcro on the sensor so it can be easily removed when battery needs replacement. Battery life is an unknown but willing to put up with the hassle if it keeps performing as it has so far. Nice addition to my growing list of HomeKit accessories.

Excellent performance but terrible mechanical design
This is about the new Thread enabled units. The sensor triggers reliably and quickly although I've missed a small number of notifications. I blame that on Apple Home/HomeKit which may be unacceptable for some people. The problem is the flat battery cover. It has two ears that fit into two slots in the body of the sensor and there is insufficient clearance. It takes a ridiculous effort to close the cover unless you remove some material from the ears. If Eve was concerned about gravity pulling the sensor off the cover they should have just reversed the orientation.Despite this I'm keeping the sensors because they're almost certainly the best native Apple Home devices. The attached image shows the ears and slots. Note that the cover is a trapezoid so it only fits one way with the ridge on the bottom engaging the groove.

Buyer Beware!!!
The product basically is a pain to pair. It takes so many very frustrating attempts. Not straightforward at all as you would expect and as marketed. I lost 3 units after updating to Matter. Took ages to install the new firmware and 3 units simply do not work. After a dozen emails back and forth to support - they basically told me that there is nothing that they can do and will not replace the units and kind of just left it at that. Now I have 3 rubbish units on hand, just because I followed their instructions step-by-step. If you need a company that will have your back - look elsewhere.

Didn't realize how much I'd love these
I had a number of eve HomeKit accessories in my house, all of which have worked perfectly since day one. Buying window/door sensors was a way to help with my inability to remember whether or not the garage door was closed. Now I can just ask Siri, even if I'm half-way to the store when I think about it. They work great and have excellent battery life.

Responsive with Thread
I've purchased a total of 9 of these sensors, each time choosing the 3 pack option. Two of the 3 packs had clear protective film which was somewhat difficult to remote, while the 3rd was fine and the film came off easily.I have HomePod mini devices in a few rooms, and these sensors communicate with the HomePod minis over thread. They are generally quite responsive and so far I am very happy with them.I also like that the magnetic part of the sensor is fairly small, actually about the smallest out of all of the door and window sensors I’ve looked at.When these arrived they needed a firmware update and initially connected to HomeKit using Bluetooth instead of thread. In order to get these to connect over thread, I installed the firmware update and sometimes needed to take out the battery for a brief time and reset my HomePod mini to get them to restart and connect via Thread instead of Bluetooth. Once I did this though they connected via thread and have worked flawlessly ever since.
