Great Value, Great Design
This summer, I have taken two trips which required an easy to pack carry-on. This is perfect. The first trip was to Peru. I went with a friend, and we spent two weeks traveling the country; we never spent more than 3 consecutive nights in a single place. This was the only luggage I brought. The second trip is currently in progress. I have a 2.5 month internship in Qatar. Everything fit into this and one decent sized suitcase. Once I arrived, I quickly emptied it and have since been using it as an every day backpack to lug around my computer, water bottles, and often 1 change of clothes. The bag has withstood air travel, bus travel, and everyday use perfectly. I have not been particularly kind to it. My original plan was to use this for the summer, and then probably throw it out. No one really needs a third backpack, which is essentially what this would become. Those plans have changed. There is no reason not to hang on to this - or maybe give it to one of my siblings. There may be a couple of frayed threads on the inside, but nothing which impacts the integrity or functionality. If the threads really bothered me, I could cut them free with a knife. The design of the back is also very well done. There are multiple pockets. The main compartment unzips fully, and takes up most of the volume. The shape and the full zipper are why I bought this in the first place. It is easy to fold all the clothes you need for a short period of time and lay them neatly in the bag for travel. The bag itself fits nicely into the carry-on requirements of airports without losing the space near the top like a conventional curved backpack would. The additional pockets are good for packing things which require quick access, but they really don't add quite so much for my use. The second pocket also unzips fully, and it fits a folder made to hold 8.5x11 paper without problem. The third pocket holds smaller items, and it doesn't unzip fully. It is still fairly deep, which means that you might have to reach in and dig around to find something. It also has pouched to hold things, presumably pencils, money, or the like. The problem is that these pouches lack zippers. As I said, I don't handle this thing gently. Things tend to be jostled out of those pouches. That leaves only two things to review. The straps and the snaps. I'll start with the snaps. They are the most disappointing part of this product. The snaps themselves work fine, but the adjustable straps are too loose. By that, I mean that they loosen with any pressure whatsoever, so they are pretty much useless to hold the bag to a certain size unless you tie them or rethread the straps in such a way that they aren't really adjustable. I did tie my top ones, but the bottom ones are close enough to the bottom seam that it doesn't really make sense to tie those for my purposes. The straps are everything that is expected. They adjust and keep their adjustment. They are padded. They are broad enough to distribute weight, but thin enough not to get in the way. The handle is occasionally nice, but the shoulder straps do just fine on their own. This is definitely a worthwhile product for lightweight traveling. It also works well for daily use.

a great backpack
We purchased this one and the smaller 15" Cabin Max Backpack. Both are great bags. This larger one is cool in that the zippers go around 3 sides of the bag, so when you are putting your cloths in, the top of the bag is off to the side out of the way. A very nice feature as the smaller 15" bag does not have that. So easy to pack your stuff and the bag holds a ton. We also bought one of those hand held luggage scales as the bag will hold more than some airlines allow for carry on. We are very happy with the backpack. It has some padding on the straps but the bag is very lightweight. After a 2 week trip with lots of moving between towns, the bag still looks like new. Just know that it takes a long time (6 weeks for us) for the bag to arrive.

Good lightweight, roomy backpack
While this is roomy and very lightweight, I wish I'd noticed it didn't have a pass-through sleeve to carry atop a rolling suitcase. Once it's loaded up it becomes a bit unwieldy - the downside to its roominess - and I would have loved to roll it on top another bag more securely than through its shoulder straps. I'm worried about the attachment points of those straps, too, after only one use - see photo. The zippers work well and there are some internal pockets for organization. I love the print and I think the fabric must be water resistant. I didn't have that issue to confirm it, but it sounds crinkly, as if it's been treated. It definitely would be able to squish down into a carry-on bag test box, due to its unstructured construction, so combined with its light weight it could be perfect for an airline that is strict on size and weight.

Just buy it.
I used this bag for a work trip across the country. It was a 5-day trip - just long enough that I couldn’t fit everything into a book bag, but REALLY didn’t want to check a bag. I needed some dressier outfits for the office in addition to clothing for more casual, after-work events. This bag size was PERFECT. It’s the same size as a carry on but malleable. It’s very lightweight. I am a 2xl female going from a warm climate to a very cold one and was able to pack 7 shirts, 3 cardigans, a long duster, 3 long scarves, 4 pair of pants, a pair of shorts, 2 pair of flats, several socks and undergarments, a long fleece coat, and of course the typical quart sized clear bag of toiletries. I was totally impressed. I purchased the tropical print and aside from being comfortable and practical, the colors are vibrant and beautiful. Definitely recommend.

Worked perfectly for our needs
I wrote the review below in 2019, when we first purchased 6 of these. It is now 2025 and I am going from 4 to 5 starts for two reasons. The first is that we started using these packs for a European trip but are using them for frequent camping trips, weekend trips, college trips, and our children used them for camps (I would estimate a minimum of 5-8 multi day trips a year) over the past 6 years - when our children have other packing options, they choose this backpack. After all these years, we use this product often and the packs have withstood the test of time. The second is I came back to purchase another pack because we all love them (one of our children has the slightly smaller size & wants the same as the rest of us) despite many alternatives. If you come back 6 years later and are staying true to brand, the product deserves 5 stars. Original Review: We purchased these packs for a very particular purpose and while they are not perfect packs they worked well for our needs. (*Note, not all of the packs they offer are the same size, so be careful when you order - in the picture I shared, the "galaxy" and navy packs are slightly smaller than the yellow, pink and red). Our party of 6 (myself, my husband, our 3 children and my mother) wanted to "backpack" around Europe for a month without checking any bags and we were able to do so with these. Each airline has different carry on bag policies - we flew TAP and EasyJet. Tap allows you 1 personal item (such as a purse) no more than 4lb and 16x12x5 inches and 1 piece of hand luggage no more than 8kg (about 17.5lb) and 22x12x5 inches. In other words we were limited to 21.5lb of gear (including the weight of our bags) other than what we wore onto the plane. EasyJet does not have weight restrictions but you are allowed only 1 carry on item (NO personal item) that does not exceed 22x17.5x10 inches. The primary reason I purchased these bags is because they are almost exactly the dimensions of a "typical" carry on bag and weigh about 1.5lb. Next, we could compress them and they are flexible so while they are 21x14x9 inches when full, we could pull on the straps at get them to compress to meet the requirements of TAP. When they were filled with 17.5lb of gear there was plenty of room for us to add our "personal items" as we needed to do when we flew EasyJet. When you limit weight, you can also limit comfort and that was the case with these bags. Unlike hiking packs, these have no frame or straps with which to displace the weight so they were less comfortable than hiking packs (I would NOT use these for back country hiking), but we knew that going in. I was concerned about durability (I read some reviews in which people complained about their bags falling apart) but all 6 made it through a month of fairly intense travel intact. There were times when my husband and I had "extra" gear in our bags (that we didn't fly with) and were carrying closer to 30lb with no problems. Additionally, these bags were not treated gently (my kids can be rough when packing/zipping, they were tossed around a bit, used as seats, etc...). Still, after a month, there were no tears, rips, or loose seems. Another feature you give up when you go with a bag this light is "sturdiness" - because they are flexible and not reinforced, items shift around and though they started looking rectangular when we packed, items would shift down but this is more of an aesthetic complaint. I realize in the pictures the bags look like they are very different in size, but that has to do with the frames of the wearers. For reference, the person carrying the yellow pack is 6'1", the ladies with the navy and pink packs are about 5'5" while the smaller two are about 65-75lb. A huge benefit of traveling with packs in Europe is that many streets are stone, cobble stone, uneven, narrow with many stairs and hills etc... It can be very difficult using roller luggage (wheels frequently get stuck or break). There are many times when one needs to carry roller luggage and with 3 children, it is easier to have them wear their luggage on their backs than carry it themselves or have us carry it for them. If we were traveling to a few hotels with easy transfers this would not have been a consideration, but we used a great deal of public transportation, stayed in over a dozen cities and walked with our luggage a great deal, so these were perfect for us. Given our relatively specific needs, I am very happy with these bags, will use them again in this capacity and would recommend them for this type of travel.

The seams fall apart at stress points, 3 year warranty a scam
I bought this backpack because I needed one that I could get in a hurry on Amazon prime. I needed one that fit into the overhead bin space on airlines perfectly, and that I could carry on rough roads where roller wheels don’t work. I’ve completed three one week trips with his backpack, and the seams are starting to fall apart right behind where the shoulders straps attach at the top of the pack. Although the zippers are a good quality, the fabric is too thin, not strong enough, and the seams are not reinforced. I did not overpack it. Also the straps to tighten down the backpack and make it slimmer are attached On the wrong side of the zipper, which could Cause premature zipper failure. When the straps are cinched down, they will put extra stress on the zipper. Also, the shoulder straps are thin and offer very little padding compared to my other packs, Even ones with smaller capacity than this one. Because of the seam failure, I am going to message the company and see if they will send me a replacement or a refund. I I don’t want replacement if it has weak seems like this one because I’m afraid they will fail and the middle of a trip. Update 6/14/24: Warranty: Amazon product page and manufacturer's website says this backpack has a 3 year warranty. Since this product is past the 1 month return period but within 3 years I should be able to send it to them for inspection. But unless customer buys it directly from Cabin Max, there is no way to return it. The link for "contact us" is broken. No customer support. My rating for company customer service: F. Update 7/5/24: The parent company is in Estonia. I emailed them at [email protected] one month ago and they never responded. Therefore, the warranty or guarantee listed in the Amazon ad is a lie. There is no way to make a warranty claim on this product if defective.

Great Bag
I traveled across 3 different countries with this bag for about 3 weeks, it fit as a carry on for planes, fit on buses & trains, can carry it around if necessary, and it holds A TON. I fit enough clothes for my entire trip and would recommend this bag.

The Good - (1) fits a lot (2) quality is 7/10 (3) color is accurate (4) zipper is good quality and bag sown well (5) Traveled Europe/Russia 2017 - bag was carry-on approved on all flights (domestic and international). The Bad - (1) the width of the shoulder straps isn't ideal, hurts the shoulders a lot after 20-30 min of wearing (if heavy especially)..(2) no back support whatsoever - hurts your mid to lower back immensely... (3) where the shoulders straps connect (are sown to the bag up top) the quality there is so-so. Overall - not good bag to travel with internationally.
