This Y-lanyard was perfect for my roof work safety setup. For inspection, pressure cleaning or painting of the roof of our concrete dome house, this lanyard allows me to attach to two of five anchor points on our roof and then to an adjustable safety rope. I also use a half-body climbing harness with this setup. The lanyard itself features three double action snap-hooks and heavy duty 1.2" nylon webbing with heavy duty stitching. The main section also includes a fall arrest device which would absorb the shock of a sudden increase in load and release an extended safety line. As this extension line adds an additional 48" of webbing, this would need to be accounted for in your height from the ground for it to be an effective safety feature. This would also be a one-time only use feature if deployed. Overall, this lanyard strap and the snap-hooks appear solid and includes a third party product inspection date for user reference. Hopefully I will not have to put the fall arrester to the test but can give this a solid 5 stars.

Looks to be very heavy duty. Using this on my roof where I have anchors. Playing it safe installing Christmas lights and not wanting to fall off the roof and turn into Santa Claus. Better yet, don’t want to end up injured. The thing that absorbs the impact of the fall is interesting. The webbing is packaged vac and forth in a very heavy clear plastic shrink wrap. No way to test it other than falling and apparently it’s single use. It looks to be very sturdy so I’m trusting it to save me. Hope to never need it.
