Truly beautiful beads. I wish I could say I purchased these beads because of some greater desire for my meditation practice, however I purchased them based on their visual aesthetic and for the fact that they were reasonably priced. Based on the price, my expectations were minimal, however I am pleased to report that they are an exceptional long strand, of what appears to be well made string of mala beads.I read some of the previous reviews and saw some images that others posted showing/describing beads with an odd whitish coating, red tassel, white knotting and a strong chemical smell. I have to say, of the multiple mala beads that I have purchased online, these are the prettiest (aside from the handmade semi precious stone one I purchased for about 10's the price of these!). I am not sure if I have received a different batch than other reviewers, however the beads that I received were a beautiful deep brown, neither overly shiny nor dull, they were knotted in a consistent manner with brown fiber/rope/string, and had a brown tassel (short-ish, however not dissimilar to what is advertised). I didn't notice any strong chemical odor and I have not found them to overly fragile. I have three kids, one who is a toddler who I carry everywhere and I have worn these beads on multiple occasions, and aside from the ample length of these beads which allows my toddler to occasionally choke me, they have not broken or cracked. I will most likely purchase them for few of my friends (might want to replace the pouch - I have never been a fan of the "velveteen" style pouches - however this is just my own personal preference).

First I want to say that the picture you display for this Mala does not do it justice. Please change to a color photo. My original intention was to split these beads into two sets of 54 instead of 108, and add my own dzi bead before the tassle on each set. But these beads are so lovely, just the way they are. They are quite long and reach below my waist when I wear them around my neck. This I am not used to in length for a Mala, but that's ok. This is different than any set that I own. I have been collecting Malas for fifteen years now. Each lotus seed is knotted on the string and seems very sturdy. A few seeds are not perfectly centered on the string, but this only adds to the hand made effect of the set as a whole. Quite charming. The tassle is a beauty too, and is soft and smooth brown. It feels and looks like silk. If you don't mind a long Mala I would say get these. This is true quality. Don't be alarmed if the seeds seem to have a grayish overcast to them. This is natural. And as the oils from your hands permiate these seeds over time and use; they will turn a darker, richer brown color, and shiney. They are just the right size for counting resitations comfortably. On the overall I would say get this Mala if you want something different. Delivery time was quick.

When the product arrived I could not be happier. The beans were well connected in a nice little packet to carry and protect. What puzzled me at first was the little (looked like) wood dust inside the little packet. I carry with me for a week and then one day one of the string broke. I inspected it and fixed myself and was thinking re-string it when I have time. I put away in a drawer. about a week ago I pick up the little pocket and is was full of wood dust like and the beans were broken, eaten inside out by little white bugs. Entire Mala was destroyed by the bags. I checked carefully and sprayed my furniture concern that this bags spread to other places but did not find any sign of it only on the mala. I am very disappointed. I think that the made of the product is vell done, however, the supplier of the bean should be changed and quality check should have higher standards

While I expected larger seeds for some reason, these were a perfect size. The mala is the longest I've ever seen. It hangs to my waist, and I'm 5'8. The tassel isn't too long, a bit short, but not a problem. There is a waxy substance that exists on the bead themselves and needs to be removed. I had found an online Indian sight that recommended using Neem Oil, essential oil , to prevent bugs or insects from ruining the mala over time. I believe it also prevents fungus growth. These are a mala not intended for a water bat, they will crack the seed from it swelling. For mine I cleaned each bead with the Neem Oil, which made them glossy. Waited a whole day and went back over with an essential oil blend I found calming and fragrant, since the Neem oil has a somewhat terrible smell that does dissipate. I just didn't want it to be smelling on the cord if I wore it around my neck. The beads lost the waxy coating and shined deeper and darker, almost like a shiny chocolate piece of candy. Great spacing between beads. I ordered two and could not be happier that I did. If you have doubts, like I did, just buy it, do like I suggested and you will love these malas. ENJOY! :)

This mala is exactly as described. I'm extremely pleased with it. Like some other reviewers said, the beads did have a strong odor when they arrived. It's a difficult smell to describe, but if you've ever been in the home of a Middle Eastern or Indian family, you'll be familiar with it - sort of earthy and spicy. I didn't find it unpleasant at all, and was actually disappointed when it disappeared. After a couple days, the smell all but vanished. After two weeks, the beads now have a very faint, slightly sweet smell, like incense. The mala itself is exceptionally made. The beads are just the right size for mantra recitation, which is what I use it for. The mala is knotted between each bead. Someone took a lot of time and care to make sure it was made just right. This is a quality mala, the like of which you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere else. It could be worn as a necklace. If I double it over, it hangs right about the middle of my chest, which is perfect. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. If you decide to buy this mala, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

This is my second set of mala beads....the first set were too small for me to "feel" and "pass" through my fingers when trying to calm my anxiety....nope, I don't have big hands or fingers but I wanted to feel each one as I either counted or repeated my mantra "this to will pass"...kept the other set as a bracelet but this set is by my pillow on my bed for easy reach when I need them....sooooo size is good, quality appears good and they feel nice, they're not very beautiful if you want colour but they are a lovely chocolate colour and are terrific value for the money ☺️👍

Diese Mala ist sehr groß und kann gut als Kette zweimal um den Hals geschlungen werden. Sie ist hervorragend verarbeitet. Sehr schön sind auch die einzelnen Perlen zu handhaben. Wurde schnell versand. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis super!
