A visual hoot!
My son loved this book. He brought it to pre-school “show and tell”, and “read” it to the class. He had them rolling on the floor— teachers included. He felt like a celebrity.

Wonderful book for toddlers and young children
As a parent, grandparent and early childhood teacher, I love the Sandra Boynton books. She uses whimsical animal characters and she does so well at playing with language using rhyme, rhythm, text patterns and vocabulary. All of these elements are so important for language developmentBlue Hat, Green Hat utilizes color words as well as names pieces of clothing and how you would wear those pieces. She makes it fun by having one of her characters wear the piece of clothing unconventionally which makes the listener laugh. I have read this book to my own sons, children in my early childhood classrooms and now to my granddaughter. They all love this book!

Chunky board book perfect for toddler hands
This was my son’s first book that he “read” when he was 2-3. The illustrations are colorful and fun. The story has an adorable, fun theme and helps teach colors, as well as the proper way to wear clothes. My child would anticipate the last word of each page, squealing with delight, “Oops!” And still 20+ years later, makes me smile with happy memories.

Best Book
This book not only engages the least-book-loving baby, but also helps kids learn colors, clothing articles, left-to-right reading, voice inflection (they love to enthusiastically join in on the “Oooooops!”), ironic and situational humor, and memorization (because they will have it memorized before long). Excellent book. A firm favorite. I love to give to my friends with young children/babies.

One of Boynton's Best
This was one of my kids' favorites when they were little, and now my grandson is enjoying it. What can you say about Boynton? She knows the right combination of silly images, funny juxtapositions, great rhymes and sound-effects that combined makes for a very appealing book for young ages. Honestly, this is good as a very beginner book, as well as for older kids who enjoy reading it on their own. Adults find it funny, too! I can't recommend Sandra Boynton's books highly enough. You will not go wrong with a Boynton book. There's a reason her books have been so popular for so long.
