Great and Affordable Vertical Tapping Block
This is a very affordable tapping block to ensure things stay vertical. The multiple hole sizes is helpful.

A simple tool that really works!
What a simple, yet effective device! This makes drilling or tapping straight holes totally do-able. It's very easy to use. To clean it quickly, I just use any brand of spray-can brake cleaner, available at all auto-part stores. If you have to drill a straight holes in a thick piece of metal, and you can't do it with a drill press, then this tool is for you.

Absolute Garbage!
Absolute Garbage!I figured this was made of at minimum Steel but turns out is is made of a plastic material.Way to soft! You will not get many uses out of this.As a Veteran Machinist take my work for it. This may be OK for hobby use but that is the extent.I normally make them myself and I figured for the price I am not wasting my time.

Good, but...
The shaft of a #4 tap is considerably larger than the part that does the threading and the tap guide is 1" thick, which is deeper than the threading portion is long. Unfortunately, the tap guide has a hole sized for the #4 threading portion, but too small for the tap's shaft to enter. You can't actually use it to lie up a #4 tap.Carefully align a 9/64" drill to to the #4 hole in the tap guide and drill half way into the tap guide. You will then be able to insert a #4 tap far enough into the guide to start tapping the hole. Once the tap is started straight (a couple of turns) remove it, remove the tap guide, and then carefully start the tap back into the threads that you started and complete the tapping operation.Aside from this fixable, though totally unnecessary, design issue, the tap guide handles just about any size tap that you're likely to use. It's compact, light and inexpensive

Easy to hand hold when tapping
Light weight, but rugged design. It’s small size makes it easy to tap holding your work piece in your hands.

too tall for most taps that your average person would have.
On smaller taps that have a larger shoulder at end near the handle this block doesn't allow enough of the tap to protrude out the bottom to start cutting. The only way I could think to rectify the situation is to mill it down in Height. Not sure what taps they used when designing this aid but your average joe that has cheapo harbor freight chinese made taps will likely not find this useful without modification. Size wise it is nice and compact. I'd recommend they reduce height of product , also they'd save material costs, and perhaps make a stepped version so smaller taps holes have less height than larger tap holes.

Important to have for accurate tapping of holes.
Light weight hard plastic, not metal. As a former machinist, I used to use all metal tapping disks like this. But the lighter weight makes it easier to handle in situations where you are free-hand tapping. Have used it several times with good results. Not for drilling, use a metal guide for that. A drill bit will chew it up.
