Yes, CordoHyde is waxed cotton. Some people like to wash them to remove the wax.This will give you a soft lead with the Resco slider to hold it in place.

It should hold up. However typically for show, a dog of the size other things are used instead. I use these for Terrier and my small breeds like Lowchen.

It is a soft, waxed cotton-type show lead that I train my puppies on. I haven't seen people in the Doberman ring using Resco leads - they usually use a chain collar and a leather lead.
