Review on FLUVAL Vaccum
If you’re looking for a vacuum for cleaning up that dirty substrate, look no further! This unit is totally worth the price. I highly recommend it anyone. If you have sand for a substrate, the sand will get sucked in and it will eventually clog the white filter but some will filter out while using it, just try not to stick the plastic teeth at the end of it directly into the sand just ever so slightly the surface of the sand and or substrate.

It's okay.
I needed an electric vacuum or my low to the floor aquarium. This works pretty good for picking up muck without taking out water. It's very strong though so you have to watch out for your fish. It's bulky and a bit hard to move about the tank, but the pads of the filter collects everything while your water goes back to the tank. I would use filter floss to replace the pad in the future as paying $10 for a tiny pad to replace it is too high a price. Now to do a water change you don't get the hose and you take out the orange filter compartment to get to the area you put your own hose on. The tubing I have won't it over it. It's a 1/2" I believe. So I have to hold it in a bit with my fingers. It's a bit quirky and shouldn't have to do this with an expensive unit like this. It works though. Just clunky. Perhaps you could purchase a bigger hose...maybe 3/4" and it might slip tightly over the hole area (instead of 1/2" inside the hole). I don't know if there is standard aquarium tubing that is the correct size. Maybe someone could give me some ideas. For right now I am okay with a funky like way of doing water changes. This product feels a bit cheap. Not as bad as some electric gravel cleaners, but for me, the price should be maybe $35. I need a type of gravel vac as I said, to take out my low to the floor tank though so I am glad this works as good as it does. It takes out debris which is what I need for this tank right now. When the tank gets out of the "debris phase" I can just do more water changes with a little water pump and it will be much easier. You gotta do what you gotta do.This will do the job fairly easily, with a heavy duty flow intake if this is what you want. Just watch out for your fish..even though there is a protection grate over the flow intake but still it will suck in fish but at least they won't go into the impeller. All in all this is what I honestly think of the item.

Excellent
Excellent!Lots of power.MUCH better than my older battery powered one.Good screening. No rocks stuck in the mechanism.Added filter keeps the fines from returning to tank.

Utter Disappointment: FluvaL
I am absolutely disheartened and infuriated with my recent purchase of the Fluval 11077 ProVac Powered Aquarium Gravel Cleaner and Vacuum. After saving up for so long and eagerly anticipating its arrival for my turtle aquarium, I couldn't have been more let down. The product was delivered on time, and the package was undamaged, which gave me a glimmer of hope. Excitedly, I hurried to my aquarium, read the instructions carefully, and plugged the device in, expecting it to work wonders. To my utter sadness and frustration, the only thing that turned on was the LED light; the vacuum function did not work at all. Nothing. No suction, no cleaning. NOTHING.The disappointment I felt was crushing. I had envisioned a device that would make maintaining my aquarium easier and more efficient. Instead, I was confronted with a useless piece of equipment. The fact that I was so excited yet so let down made me want to cry. Now, to add insult to injury, I have to go through the arduous process of returning this defective product. My closest Amazon return facility is 10 miles away, and given the current 100° heat, this is not only inconvenient but also physically exhausting. The thought of walking 10 miles in such heat, just to return something that should have worked perfectly fine upon arrival, makes me even angrier.Fluval, you have severely disappointed a long-time customer. Your quality control should be better. This experience has completely shattered my trust in your brand. I expected a premium product given the cost and your reputation, but instead, I was met with a defective and useless device. You have not only cost me time and money but also caused immense frustration and physical inconvenience. This experience has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I can't, in good conscience, recommend the Fluval 11077 ProVac to anyone.Do better, Fluval. You've lost a loyal customer due to this sheer negligence and poor quality control.

Weak suction doesn’t clean well
Not good for 29 gallon aquarium. The water doesn’t expel from the filter well because it has to be submerged to reach the bottom. Necessitates an extension. Two speed suction seem to pull water at the same rate.Switch is push button and difficult to turn on and off. Also, you don’t know what speed the pump is because both speeds sound and feel the same.Only one filter comes with it which dirties quickly. The filter can be cleaned out but I don’t believe it will last long. What’s good is because the suction is so low, sand doesn’t easily get pulled up. However gravel, like Flourite, doesn’t budge. Making it tough to get anything off the substrate. It fits over some plants so diatoms and other debris can be cleaned off the leaves.I have three stars and that’s being generous. Glad I didn’t pay retail at 80 dollars, it’s not worth it.

Works Great!!
Best electric substrate cleaner I've ever owned! Has large area so you don't have to stop as often. Really captures the yuck you didn't even know you had in your aquarium!! Highly recommend but make sure to buy replacement filters. You can rinse and reuse them but they start to fall apart.
