Amazing photos and projects
This book is absolutely wonderful. It offers projects that even a beginner can tackle. The images make it supremely easy to follow along step by step. This is essential for me as I am known for killing off my plants! However Jen makes things sound so simple and I feel like I can really make this work finally! The book talks about growing micro food and small area gardening- this is perfect for people who don’t have a large gardening plot. I love the groupings she comes up with like the salsa project and the stir fry garden- I can’t wait to get started. I highly recommend this book!

A book to inspire everyone
This is a really fun book for my whole family - for my husband (a fairly avid gardener) who is picking up some great tips; for me (the one with a black thumb) to introduce me to the basics and inspire me to get growing; and for my kids who love browsing the creative projects and will be the first ones to pick the plants clean! I also really like how this book organizes the projects by season. It will be a useful guide all year long.

Micro Edibles for Everyone
I am really enjoying this book. The steps are easy to follow, the illustrations are beautiful, and the ideas are creative. I even think the kids would like helping on some of the projects, like the Strawberry cake stand.

Great ideas for small spaces
I have been looking for a book like this for years. It addresses the challenges of trying to grow your own with limited space (like our small NYC patio). Excellent ideas, easy to follow, and has the whole family excited for salads in the summer with the food we have grown at home.

Perfect for my condo!
This book is amazing. I recently downsized to a condo, and was desperate for ideas on how to continue gardening in a smaller space. This book will be my guide through the season!!

Have Pantyhose? Use It To Grow Melons Successfully
Do you still own pantyhose? Ever wear them? No, me either. But you can recycle them into durable, stretchable garden hammocks for successful melon growing. Who knew? Jen McGuinness of Frau Zinnie, apparently, in her book Micro Food Gardening, Project Plans and Plants for Growing Fruits and Veggies in Tiny Spaces.I'm always interested in learning how to efficiently grow something in a small space - given our lack of adequate yard - and enjoy taking on creative projects.McGuinness offers the reader plenty of clever plotting, potting, and planting solutions, like the one I mentioned. We're introduced to different container options and suitability, along with water, soil, sun, and shade situations we should consider when getting started. She teaches us the basics of successfully upcycling old mugs, mason jars, and cake pans into pots with drainage (I've done this a time or two for succulents and cactus trimmings to propagate or give them as gifts).Everything is this ~175-page book well-written, with clear examples and explanations, colorful images, and helpful tips and tricks to make a gardener out of any beginner or inspire a seasoned plant lover to try a few new tricks.

Fun ideas for indoors and out. Makes it easy to grow something even without a garden
This is a unique and amazing book! Every page is filled with beautiful ideas for creating mini gardens in tight spaces and out of everyday items. Teacups and old containers work well. There are directions for building a side table that has a living top! There are many suggestions for which plants work well in small containers so we know exactly what we are doing from the start. It even shows how to make an indoor garden with glass mason jars. That would have never occurred to me because I know plants need drainage. McGuinness shows how to safely drill glass for optimal drainage. I've not had the courage to try yet but I'm certain that I will.I have 27 acres. Unfortunately, they are filled with wildlife and every garden I've tried has been devoured by deer and other animals. Micro Food Gardening helps me find small spaces, indoors and out, that can foster small amounts of food that only I can reach. The ideas are useful but they are also very attractive! Lots of fun on every page. I'm very happy with this book!
