Game changer for Horizon: Forbidden West (and H:ZD, too!)
I bought this upgrade on a recommendation from a friend to try the Sony Back Button, which this appears to be functionally identical to except for cosmetic differences.Installation is simple plug-n-play, and once installed seems to hold firmly in place on the belly of the controller. I like that they provide the headphone jack pass thru. It does add a bit of bulk/mass to the controller, but after ~20hrs of play, I haven’t really noticed. For my “medium glove” hands and grip-style, the spoons of the paddles sit nicely under the pads of my ring-fingers.Programming the button mappings is very easy and intuitive. While the paper instructions explain it just fine, I actually just watched a 1min YouTube video and had mine configured in about half that time.I decided to take the leap on paddles specifically for playing Horizon: Zero Dawn and Horizon: Forbidden West. In both games, dodge-evasion and jump-aim/jump-grapple play a big part of the game’s combat mechanics. This makes the right-thumb have to do extra-acrobatics between X, O, and R-stick.So, I’ve mapped X-jump to the L-paddle and O-evade to the R-paddle and it’s made a big difference in both melee engagements and with quickly grappling to higher ground in H:FW. Being able to evade an attack while also being able to keep the camera on your attacker or pan for a redoubt position is quite nice, too.I’ve only been playing for two days with this setup and I’m already feeling it was a worthwhile upgrade. Haven’t tried with other games, but have some ideas with similar rogue, FPS and racer “tweaks”.Pros:- Easy installation and button mapping- Pass-thru for the headphone jack- Screen is easy to see/read in low-light envs- Solid construction and mount on controller- Has 3 profiles so you can save different configs for different games/playersCons:- Bulk/weight addition takes a little getting used to- Buttons are a little more “clicky” than the default controller buttons, again, just took a little getting used to.As for the silicon stick-caps, they’re a nice “gimme” pack-in item. I have zero need for the super-tall set, but the short ones do add a nice bit of ridge and softness to the stock sticks.

Great for minor optimization of gaming
I was looking for a way to add buttons that are more convenient for me to use. For reference, I only need the buttons for Call of Duty (warzone and Black Ops: Cold War). For warzone, I need to be able to mark locations easier, and in BO I wanted to use killstreaks faster. What these have in common is being mapped to the d pad, which means I would have to move my thumb off the control stick. In a fast paced game like Call of Duty, that split second delay can cost you kills or deaths. These are also mapped to different buttons (spotting is up, calling in killstreaks is right). Not only does this product give me two buttons to use but it gives me multiple profiles. I have separate profiles for Warzone and Black Ops. If I only had one profile I would set one to up and the other to right. But since I have the profiles, I was able to set the other hotkey on the Black Ops profile to down, which allows me to cycle through killstreaks rather than call in the highest one (so if I want to call in UAV/Radar instead of Counter UAV, which I may have earned since and would take priority). It has 3 profiles, so you can set up different profiles for games or users. This also allows you to use a headset, which not all other competitors have. It does take a few games to get used to, but mostly just reprogramming your brain to remember you have those options available. Very rarely am I pressing the buttons by accident. The buttons sit where your middle fingers naturally rest (or ring fingers), allowing you to use those fingers rather than moving fingers around. As far as the thumb sticks go, I don't really notice a difference. For what it's worth they appear to be of decent enough quality, but I haven't notice a huge difference in my play that I can attribute to those thumb pads. I didn't purchase this because of the thumb pads, that was more of a bonus for me - I was only interested in the extra buttons but decided to give the thumb pads a shot. They are somewhat difficult to install, so parents should be aware they may need to help kids with putting them on - hand strength seems to be essential to getting them on tight.Overall I have noticed no negative impacts on my play, and the improvements I wanted were fulfilled with a minimal learning curve. More importantly it doesn't break the bank like a full after market controller would, and can be easily installed on any standard PS4 controller.

GOOD...with some flaws
So this is my personal preference, the positioning is great, your hands can rest on the buttons, and it works how it should. The thing is that it is to sensitive in my opinion. I grip the controller pretty hard, so my hands accidently press one of the buttons.

Its a good product for now
The top marked part of the middle button is not actually a button only the bottom part can be pressed. I wanted to change preset while playing but the bottom part is further from my finger so its uncomfortable. I dont know if all products are like mine or mine is defective.UPDATE. After months i think they are perfect and the best on the market. Earphone mic works perffect with this in case you see someone saying otherwise

Description was misleading, At least for me.
I realize most people would probably know that it is only the pieces that go to the controller, but as for me and my 10 year old son we thought it was the whole controller. I realize it was not as expensive but I read the full beginning description then most of the detailed description, I can see where if someone who would think it might not be the whole controller would realize it wasn't but I didn't even know to question the fact that it may or may not come with the controller. So I'm not leaving the best review, I apologize. I don't even know if it works or not because I at least found out that it needs a certain controller that we do not have yet. Again sorry and thank you!
