Accessible Recipes - Wonderful Flavors
I first checked this cookbook out from the local library. I was so inspired by the content that I purchased it for myself and also gifted a copy to my half-Egyptian father-in-law.The author and chef present a unique take on middle eastern cuisine that isn’t just the same dishes from one country over with a new name as so many cookbook seem to do lately. There is enough uniqueness in the recipes that make them stand out as uniquely Egyptian. Our family has enjoyed coming together to cook from this cookbook both at our house and my in-laws.It is well presented and interesting in the stories and ingredients. I highly recommend it.

Delicious recipes and fun twists on Mediterranean dishes!
This cookbook is amazing! The recipes are super flavorful and delicious. There is no shortage of spice in this book. Tons of new recipes to try that use plenty of vegetables and can be stored for lunch through the week! The beet dip was an unexpected favorite, both beautiful and delicious, it tastes a lot like hummus. I would absolutely serve this food at a party and make it for myself!

BUY THIS BOOK!!
Fantastic book with a lot of fun twists on Middle Eastern classics. As a Middle Eastern woman myself I wasn’t sure what to expect but this book knocked it out of the park. The pictures are vibrant and the recipe instructions are easy to follow!

Not What I Expected
Ok, maybe I didn't read the description properly. Maybe I purchased this book hoping it would be something different. I was hoping for a cookbook with traditional recepies blended with authentic street food recipes, but that was not the case. While I can appreciate the author's efforts to bring us a new, unique interpretation of traditional Egyptian cooking, very little of the Egyptian recipes is visible.Like so many other Egyptian, or Middle Eastern cookbooks on the market today, this book strives to please the palette of younger, Western audiences instead of sticking to traditional recepies. If I wanted a cookbook with fancy, eclectic, modern dishes I would have purchased an American/Canadian cookbook. Instead, I wanted a cookbook with EGYPTIAN recipes. Unfortunately, that's not what this book is.Sadly, I really had high hopes for this book and eagerly awaited its release. I wanted a book with Egyptian recepies. A book with recepies of Egyptian street food.I would like to thank the author though. This was my last attempt at purchasing a book with authentic Egyptian recipes. Like the other dozen or so books I purchased in the past (books that lead me to believe they too would have authentic Egyptian or Middle Eastern recipes), I have come to the realization that the only way I will actually get authentic recipes is by searching for videos of them online.

A fantastic mix of tradition and innovation
This book has all the amazing Egyptian recipes you're familiar with, and puts a new modern spin on them. Shawarma, Koshary, Fattoush Salad, Kofta... it's all in here, and absolutely delicious. A must-buy for anyone interested in Egyptian and Middle Eastern food.
