Whiteline KSB630 Front Strut Tower Brace, Black

A nice piece if you want a little more steering response. In order to install this properly on my 2005 Legacy, I had to remove 2 plastic clamps that were holding the a/c line against the firewall. I then just zip tied the a/c lines against the firewall, just make sure you have some kind of foam or rubber around the a/c line so it won’t rub up against the firewall. Hope this helps someone with fitment issues.

I had minimal expectations regarding the actual functionality of strut tower braces, but was very happy with the significant improvement on my 2005 Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT once this was installed. Steering response on turn in is noticeably quicker and sharper than it was without it. It is adjustable and fitment is spot on. Only reason why it doesn't have a perfect rating is simply because it is a very plan looking piece of hardware. That's all.

There are a few things worth mentioning about this particular strut brace. The build quality is very good, it looks pretty plain, and Whiteline customer service was very helpful when it came to my particular issue.The most important thing worth mentioning is that for those of us in the United States: the body style changed in 2005 whereas in other markers (I believe Japan and Australia) and other markets the body style changed in 2004. This means that if you have a 2004 Outback that looks like the 2001-2003 models - this product will not fit your car. For those cars you will need the KSB550 (the brace designed to fit the 2003 Outback). If your 2004 Outback looks like a 2005 then this is the correct product for you. The other way to find out is to measure between the strut mount bolts. If your bolts from center to center measure 134mm then this is the correct product for you. If it measures closer to 121.25mm then you need the KSB550.My only other issue came when it was time to return the product. Since shipping cost was not returned, it cost me around half the price of the product. :(Overall Whiteline is a great brand, I just could not give it 5 starts because of the circumstances. Just make sure you don't make the same mistake I did to have a 5 star experience.

Gonna have to modify it to make it fit a 2005 LGT. Couldn't get it on.

This is a review for Whiteline KSB630. Installed it as part of my car's mid-life suspension refresh. Fits perfect on my 2008 Subaru Legacy 2.5i (chassis code BL). Very precise and snug fit. Had to press at just the right spots (see photo) to persuade it to slide slide under the plastic air intake cowl. Surprisingly, it makes a noticeable difference in handling even in everyday driving. Adds precision especially on curvy highway sections. The front end feel more refined and on a car whose chassis is now over 10 year old car, it can use all the help it can get. Very happy with the product.
