Excellent Paddle for the Price, For More than the Price Even
This is an excellent paddle. I recently bought an inflatable standup paddleboard and I've been spending a lot of time on it. The first few days I would be pretty worn out by the end of the day and I suspected it was the paddle. When I replaced it with this one I was astonished at how big of a difference it made. I can only compare it to the paddles I've rented in the past and the aluminum ones that came with my iSUPs but I'm very happy with it.Aside from being much lighter and having a far better texture for gripping with wet/sunscreeny hands, the shaft flexes more than I expected and I love it. I think the flex in the shaft adds a slight "whip" to the stroke and adds to the speed. It also doesn't beat up my joints as much with a long day of paddling. The blade is smaller than the aluminum paddles' but propels the board better nonetheless. I'm not sure if it's the whipping action I described or if the design of the blade itself is engineered more efficiently.I'm sure there are better paddles if you want to pay the difference. But from the perspective of this amateur paddleboarder, this is probably the paddle you're looking for to replace the cheap one that came with your board.

Liked it so much, bought a second one for my husband.
This is a great Paddle. Husband was using a rental and ended up borrowing mine for a little bit because it was more comfortable and was easier to paddle with. We ended up buying a second one for him.Pros:*Easy storage with insulated lining to keep the paddle cool when in your car.*Easy to put together and adjust. I keep a phillips screwdriver in my car to make sure everything is tight and good to go before I go on the water.*Floats! - It's not super buoyant like other paddle's I've used where it pops out of the water, but floats enough for you to easily grab if you fall off your board.*Lightweight.*Ergonomic handle*Feels solid, not cheaply made.Cons:*While it is lighter overall than other paddles I've used, the center of balance is closer to the paddle end which can make it feel a little bit heavier. However, that feeling does not seem to impact my endurance at all.

Very glad I did
After four years with a stock paddle that came with my inflatable paddleboard, I was ready to upgrade, but hesitant to drop $200 on a paddle that I would not have a chance to see and touch prior to buying. I wavered on what to buy and in the end decided that I'd go all out for the full carbon model. Very glad I did. When it came and I took the bag out of the box I couldn't believe there was a paddle in there - it was so light. I used it about 10 times, primarily on Lake Erie in flat water to moderate chop. Very pleased with it overall. Along with the light weight, I appreciate the anti-twist channel which keeps the paddle aligned. This was an issue with my stock paddle. Not sure that I paddle much faster than I did previously, but did a few longer paddles (up to about 6 miles) and felt it was easier to paddle longer distance than I could previously. Good purchase overall and looking forward to using it again next year.

You've probably shelled out a few hundred for a SUP board, why skimp on your paddle?
This review is for the Super Paddles Carbon Fiber Sport paddle (carbon fiber shaft & nylon blade)The first thing out of the box you realize is; this thing is very light. The first thing you realize in the water is, holy cow, I've been wasting a lot of energy maneuvering an alloy paddle around. Even for a relatively short paddle session, the lighter weight and lack of flex will show up as less fatigue in your arms and shoulders. The second thing you notice in the water is how much power you get from each stroke and how this cleanly it exits the water at the end of the stroke. Heck, even if you rent your SUP, you should consider this paddle. It breaks down into three pieces, and comes with a nice carrying bag, so it's easy to take with you.As a few others have noted, make sure you tighten the screws on the locking mechanism before you go out on the water the first time, or else you will be fighting with an ever-changing-length paddle. To be fair, Super Paddles does allude to this on the card attached to the case.I was NOT given a discount on this product, I choose it after researching paddles when buying my SUP. :)

I liked this paddle so much that I bought two of ...
I live in Hawaii and do lot of paddling. I've owned other carbon fiber paddles, aluminum ones, etc. The 3 segments makes it easier to transport and store and the paddles are extremely light, more so than other carbon fiber paddles that I had owned in the past. I liked this paddle so much that I bought two of them, in case my friends want to go paddling with me. Highly recommend. One caveat is that the middle button does corrode with extended use in salt water, so be sure to wash it out really well or buy them separately from a hardware vendor if it does end up breaking.
