These are good quality, standard sterile packaged 5x9 "abdomonal" pads. Used to carry them for years in my kit when I was an EMT, but recently had surgery followed by post-op infections in two of my incisions which quickly led to abcesses. Both wounds had to be re-opened (surgically) and packed to allow the infections to drain. It's been over a month since my surgery, and I still have to change the packing and dressings almost daily as the deep wounds heal. The standard 4x4 gauze that I was using on top was both not absorbent enough for the initial drainage, but was also a but rough in terms of weave on sensitive incisions. I ordered these 5x9s and they are exactly what I needed. Thick, padded, highly absorbent, and extremely "smooth" fabric+like weave on the surface, so it doesn't harshly rub on the edges of my open incisions. If you keep a first aid kit at all, these are essential to have anyway for large wounds or trauma. But if you happen to have open incisions or wounds, know that these are extremely gentle even if you have to fold them for smaller use. Great product. Fast shipping. Will definitely buy from again !!!

It does not "Stick" to the open wounds that I had on my leg, from the blisters that had formed and ruptured from my Lymphodema, which I'm told there is NO KNOWN CURE for at this time. It's something I will have to live with for the rest of my life, and it's a common challenge for The Elderly (like me), because your legs widen, but the Valves inside your Lymph System do not get any longer, and cannot Close anymore, for becoming Too Short, causing the Lymph to flow Backwards, and not make it back up to your Lymph Nodes, and Cardiac System. I have to wear Compression Stockings anytime I'm not lying down, with my Heart at a lower level than my legs, so Gravity can take over, where my Lymph System cannot do it anymore. I am in a Lymphodema Clinic, twice a week, for a Machine to "Pump" the Lymph back up my legs to my Lymph Nodes and Cardiac System, for 6 weeks, and then we'll see if it gets any better. I had no idea what Lymphodema was/is, until it happened to ME. My legs got so swollen, I could NOT even put my pants on!!! It was that bad!!! I had to be admitted to a Hospital, so they could get the swelling back down again, and also treat the Cellulitis that had formed and caused a very bad Skin Infection. I was on IV Antibiotics Drip for 10-days, 24/7. It was NO FUN at all!! Meanwhile, these Medline Sterile Abdominal Pads are the PERFECT cover for my Open Wounds, to get them to Dry Up and Heal. I LOVE them, and Highly Recommend them to anyone who needs it's function, like me. 5-STARS, and I say, "GO FOR IT!!!".
