I got this even though I had the normal Van Mass vent-located phone holder because I wanted to see whether this was better.As with the other holder I was pleased to see what I had expected of Van Mass: good quality, well priced, well designed products. It fulfilled that expectation and more.I won't describe the product as you can read about it from the comprehensive product material on Amazon and other reviews. Even their advertising material is quality. This company is trying hard (and succeeding) to become a "go to" brand name in a universe of far eastern nameless sellers. It is clear they think hard about their product and their customers. This reminds me of the days when "Japan made" became the ideal.From the moment you read about the product to its very pleasurable unpacking, you know you have a quality company. I was surprised and delighted that every eventuality was thought of. There are ample components but you get a vent mount _and_ a stick on dash mount. Most companies would sell each separately. There are different sizes of metal strips and even wipes and covers! The vent mount is similar to one of the two that came with my standard mount and it is an ingenious design. Personally I would have preferred slightly wider arms arms but I have found no problems. The sticky mount is unobtrusive. The magnetic parts are slightly curved at the edges, which I thought might allow some movement from a flat plane but the magnetic grip is sufficient.I must admit I was wary of putting a strong magnet near a phone but I see no problems. The mount does what it is supposed to do with my Xiaomi Redmi mobile.Now I have both so which do I prefer? Each has its advantages. At the moment I prefer the normal mount as I can more easily remove the phone, however the magnetic mount takes no space at all and obscures less of the dash. With the normal mount I can simply pop the phone into the charger tray but with the magnetic mount I have to remove my case. This is because the metal plate stuck to the phone case interferes presumably with charging. However if you charge using a USB cable this will not be a problem. I mostly use a cable for Android Auto.So my magnetic mounts will both be employed. The sticky one is a bonus because I will use it for holding a thermometer and anything else I can think of that I want to take with me when I leave the car.For me the choice is one of convenience. I will use both until one wins out.

I've been using this Vanmass Magnetic phone holder for over a week now and it works excellenty. In the kit, it comes with 2 types of magnetic mounts, one you can stick straight to anywhere that you feel comfortable to mount your mobile phone or even use it for the passenger of your vehicle. The main one is of very good quality materials and this is used on your dash facial vents. this is placed on your facial vent vanes and not just push it in place, no you have a steel screw threaded mechanism so you can tighten it on to the vanes, this way it does not move with the weight of your phone, as these days our mobile phones get bigger and a little more weight. The magnets are so strong and will not allow your phone to fall off. The metal plates that also come with the kit, you can stick them directly to the back of your phone, or on your protective cover, like I did. This will stick to any case type, mine has a ridged back and I've tried to pull it off, with no success, its well and truly stuck. If your looking for a well made, well thought out phone holder for your vehicle, this definitely ticks all the boxes.

Found clip for connecting to fan fin was very easily broken and snapped after a couple of days. Really liked the product but plastic holder fixing too fragile.Vanmass have replaced the item and I have started to use it without any issues, hopefully was just unlucky with the first one. I really like the product it seems well designed and the company seem to be very professional and have good customer backup.

I have bought a few things now from this maker and have found them to be good quality and well made. This magnetic phone holder continues their good reputation. The supplied magnets are very strong and you get plenty, plus two base units, one, to use on the vent system of the car and one to use on any flat surface on the dash. You could actually have both your and your partners phone safely displayed on the dash simultaneously. When not in use It is rather nice on the eye and doesn’t take up any room on the dash. The supplied bits ensure that every phone setup is catered for. The magnets are very strong so you don’t worry the phone will dislodge if the car goes over a bump or something similar. It comes in a nice black box so is perfect as a gift .If you want a magnetic phone holder I think this is probably the best you can get.

Lovely design for my particular dashboard design but utterly useless because it broke 4 months after I got it. It was a little loose, so I turned the tightener and it snapped and fell apart. Really really disappointed.

I needed a strong reliable holder, since cheaper previous products either constantly fell off, lost their adhesion or were awkward to use.The quality of this was immediately obvious from the packaging and the carefully sealed individual contents.It provides several mounting options. I opted to mount the metal plate onto the rear of my case (see picture).Included was an alcohol cleaning wipe to ensure a clean grip.I assembled the ball joint into the vent grip in seconds and did a quick magnetic grip test. The 6 internal magnets left the grip marks on the rear plate, showing the grip power (picture).The ball joints fitted to the air vent in seconds, and it's position was easily adjusted for viewing. The phone grabbed firmly to the powerful rubber coated head and never moved while the vehicle was in motion.The grip is so strong that removing the phone is easy to do by pulling the bottom towards you.This is a seriously well thought out and constructed holder. I personally don't think there can be a better, or easier to use product.I stored the unused plates and dash mounts in the box in the glove box for possible future use in a second vehicle.Absolutely delighted with the purchase.
