Taking a sick car to the dealer for what might be major work, or might not be all that major (costly) is a pain when you have no true idea what is the matter. Just a "Check Engine" light. So, before going and spending up to $150.00 at the dealership, I bought this.The instructions are clear and it installed and began reading within seconds.And, it came up with a diagnosis of the problem as being one or both of a pair of engine sensors. So, I took the car to the dealer and spoke with their Service Manager. He laughed and told he if what they found was just that, he would not charge me for the diagnosis.He did not charge me for the diagnosis.This exactly pinpointed the problem and saved me a lot of money. Oh, certainly I might have rented a similar unit from one of the auto parts stores, but then if I needed it again, I'd have to go through all that again. Now, I have this for anytime I need it.

I have always used a laptop for my OBDII code reading needs. I also had a Bluetooth adapter I used with my Phone, but the iPhone and Bluetooth OBDII adapters and software are a bit hit or miss. I saw this on sale and figured I'd give it a try. Works great. Nice not having to mess with Bluetooth and my phone. Quick and Easy. Nice color screen that is easy to read.

I had check engine light on . Went to local Mitsubishi dealer paid unfairly what I consider a total rip off of $165 in exchange for a diagnose code …This is an excellent product it helps you diagnostic code with a few seconds and clear the code …. Highly recommended to everyone!

will not do the evap test other than that it does what it says

The media could not be loaded.  I purchased this to replace an old model OBD II scanner (the type that just gave you a code, which you'd then have to look up in the accompanying paper manual).I love that this has a screen and a variety of options -- no more paper manual! It's as easy to use as my old one -- just plug it in your OBD II port (usually under your steering wheel area), and it will boot up once you start the car. Navigation through menu screens takes a couple minutes to get the hang of via the four physical buttons on the device, but after a few minutes of playing around with it you'll have it down.Haven't had any issues with my car as of late, so cannot comment on how well it displays errors, but can tell you that it has a ton of options, many of which seem professional grade. If you're a budding amateur mechanic, this is a great tool for you! I am not that type of person, but am happy it does what I need it to do (and more).

You don't have to he a mechanic to use this. I found it quite easy to read codes. I dave a lot of money using this

It works great. I love it. Just would be better if the scanner had a harder screen. Screen will get scratched up. I still recommend it to anyone who needs a decent priced scanner.

Didn't work with my truck. And asked for a refund I was told no.

Works well. I like the cord between the plug in and the display. One you plug it in you can sit in the driver seat turn on the engine and read codes sitting comfortably.

When using it the tool scanned my car instantaneously for very cheap i was able to diagnose my car my self instead of paying labor definitely using this tool very much more often

Disapointed that the obd2 dosent check engine and propulsion error code
