Carhartt Men's Loose Fit Midweight Full-Zip Sweatshirt

I’ve finally found my go-to hoodie. The Carhartt Midweight Full-Zip is everything you’d expect from the brand: thick, rugged, and built like a tank. After several weeks of heavy use, it has quickly earned its spot at the front of my closet. Quality & Feel The material quality is exceptional. It has that substantial, high-quality weight to it that makes you feel like it will last for a decade. Even after multiple trips through the wash, the fabric has held its shape and softness perfectly. It hasn't thinned out or lost that "new hoodie" structure. Sizing & Fit A quick heads-up on sizing: like many Carhartt items, this runs a bit large. I personally love the Loose Fit because it makes layering a breeze. You can easily fit a thermal or a heavy flannel underneath without feeling restricted. It’s incredibly comfortable for daily wear, but you might want to size down if you prefer a more tailored look. Durability Note I did notice some minor pilling on the fabric in areas where my backpack mesh back and straps rub against the shoulders and back of the sweatshirt. However, the pills are easy to pull off, and they haven't compromised the integrity of the material at all. It’s a small trade-off for such a comfortable, heavy fabric. It tends to happen on most of my cotton shirts or jackets, so it's most likely a symptom of the backpack I use rather than the clothing. Final Verdict If you want a sweatshirt that feels like a piece of equipment rather than fast fashion, this is it. It’s warm, roomy, and incredibly durable. Pros: Very thick, high-quality material. Durable construction that holds up in the wash. Roomy fit is perfect for layering. Reliable, heavy-duty zipper. Sizing runs large (consider sizing down for a snug fit). Cons: Minor pilling possible with high-friction use (like backpacks).

I always buy men's sweatshirts because it's hard to find zip-up sweatshirts for women that are good quality. This one is excellent quality. It's sturdy. It's not too fitted, which I hate. If I wanted fitted, I'd buy a pants suit. It's loose enough to wear inside in AC during summer and not overheat, but it's hefty enough to wear outside when it gets into chilly parts of autumn and winter. The value for the cost is comparable to most major brands if you're looking for quality. It's also very soft and not itchy in any of the parts that sit on your body. I don't like itchy, so that's important. May be useful for others sensitive to textures.

I was scared at first. I just random purchased the item for an upcoming trip. I figured going a bit smaller on the size anyhow as I have been doing so as I get older. Seems like things keep shrinking. Hey, no dirty comments. So I am 5 feet 8 inches tall and run about 175 pounds, depending on the month and how many chili dogs I eat. The jacket color I ordered was Moss, because that don't grow on a rolling stone. Color was true to picture. Now looking at the model wearing the jacket and comparison to fit, which was a worry based on other reviews. First off I am more handsome than the model. Sorry, it is true. Asked the wife and got no answer. Yes the jacket fits like that. Look where the hem line is. If you don't know what a hem line is you just might not know what a hen weighs. Never mind. The jacket does go halfway down my privates and my booty, nice booty at that. However the rib knit! Yes the rib knit! For those that live where the wind never blows maybe you do not understand this feature. Rib knit is meant to cinch the material to prevent the wind, usually damn cold, from entering inside of the jacket. This does that perfectly. Nice job, hats off. Zipper issues? New jacket, how the hell do I know if its crap or not? Great point professional reviewers. Anyhow initially in my unprofessional opinion I love the zipper seems very solid. And the gold color adds some cool bling to my old mans jacket. The hood is awesome and, warm on my old mans bald head. However I usually find myself wearing a ball cap over my bald old bean. No problem. Pop the top up on this jacket and cinch down the strings and the wing flaps, as my wife calls my ears, are warm and protected. When you drop the top it is no problem. Reach up and grab the lips of the hood just in front of the cap and lift gently. Doing so releases the tension on the hood strings, like a good massage relieves the tension in my arthritic left knee. And drop the top. With me this method than reveals a handsome old guy wearing a cool jacket and a ball cap.. So with all of that crap under the bridge, let's look at you. Maybe you are considering purchasing this jacket. Online shopping can be hit or miss folks. My experience was very good. I’m 6’6” and 300+ lbs. When I find something that fits right, I generally buy in bulk because it’s RARE. I’ve been wearing this exact hoodie for many years and just got 2 more for Christmas. The quality and fit-consistency has not changed. I’m pretty much “all torso” (long arms; most of my height is from belt to head) and the sleeves are long enough (which is usually my biggest problem!) This, with a pair of Rothco BDU pants and a plain T-shirt is my daily “uniform” in the spring/fall/winter. I also have a couple of the Carhartt insulated hoodies for when it’s below freezing. They don’t disappoint, either.

It's a good hoodie but it is big like others have said. I usually order an XL so I did, despite other reviews, and I could easily fit in the L or possibly even M. They mean "loose fit". I ordered black and the color is fine. "Mid weight" is also apt because it's thicker than my thinner hoodies, but not as thick as my thickest hoodies. I wish the hood was a bit bigger, but I feel that way about most hoodies.

This is a second one for my husband. He was so distressed when his favorite hoodie was lost that I immediately ordered him a new one. Of course, the day the new one arrived he found his original one. I suggested returning the replacement but he said no way. He doesn't want to risk not being able to have another one. That just proves what a perfect sweatshirt/hoodie this is.

my dad loves anything Carhartt so I got this for him for christmas a while ago and he still wears it a lot to this day. very durable so, i think it's worth the money. It's thick enough to keep you warm in chilly weather, he works construction and I see him in it often.
