Great Information
I am new to the Buick 401. This book gives great information on how to disassemble and assemble the engine. This book also provides information on different parts that are available and where to source these parts. Must have book when digging into your 401 rebuild.

fantastic resource
Gary Weldon has put his fifty years of experience rebuilding the Buick nailhead into an easy to follow, well illustrated, technically detailed manual suitable for most folks interested in this vintage engine. The manual presents a step by step rebuild of a 401 cubic inch engine. Along the way time and cost saving tips are offered and are generous in number and clearly will help avoid needless mistakes. The illustrations and production quality of the book are topnotch. Nailhead enthusiasts will welcome this manual.

Disappointing
This book contains almost nothing about the induction and ignition of the Nailhead. Many of the topics are covered in generalities. I didn't find it very enlightening for helping me build a street engine.

Great Reference!
This is a great reference for anyone wanting to rebuild or improve performance on the Nailhead! It starts out with history, identification, design, and teardown. Next moves into a rebuild including torque specs and vendors who you can get correct and after market parts for. This is a must-have for anyone rebuilding or even working on their Nailhead.
