Well-designed and versatile
Why did you pick this product vs others?:When I travel, I rarely find coffee that satisfies my palate, particularly in the meager offerings in hotel rooms. Since my brewing preference is the "pour-over" method, I bring sealed containers of freshly-ground beans from my kitchen. This Stanley brewing device with its integral stainless filter and 12-ounce cup produces a great cup of coffee, similar to what I enjoy at home. The only variables are water quality and temperature, but part of that quandary is solved by a collapsible electric boiler that I pack in my suitcase. The Stanley brewer is unbreakable, easily rinsed, and stowable-- and so far, has not created any delays at baggage check-ins.

Great but small amount of coffee grinds
Very beginner user friendly. Made my first batch today and still need to get my ratios right with the ground coffee to water, but that’s a personal preference. I would give this product a 4.5 star, only because there was a bit of ground coffee that was not able to be filtered, but I wasn’t surprised because I saw this in other reviews. Still an amazing cup of coffee and I am very happy with my purchase. I really like the green color and it matches my stroller lol

Don't hesitate; this product is wonderful
I was a little hesitant about buying this product after reading some of the reviews, but this thing has changed my life. It's not as delicate as people are saying, as long as you take care of it properly. Here are some things I've found that helps me maximize this product and the flavor of my coffee:1) Heat up the carafe and your mug before you start brewing. Pour some of your hot water into both container, making sure you warm up the sides as well. This helps keep your coffee warm, which releases the aromas and flavors that you're looking for. When you start with a cold carafe and pour it into a cold mug, you keep losing heat and your coffee will get cold before it hits your lips.2) I think the reason people see this device as delicate is because they put it in their sink to clean later, so it bumps and clinks against other dishes. Just rinse this bad boy immediately after use and you'll be fine. I don't even take soap to it; I just rinse it really well and let it air dry. What I've found by doing this is that the coffee tastes better and better each time. Those coffee oils are no joke. I think it's like the cast iron skillet concept. I'm obviously going to wash this with soap after awhile, but so far this has been key to delicious flavor. When you rinse your carafe, make sure you use hot/warm water so you don't crack the glass. Going from hot to cold is what ruins and breaks glass.3) Brewing coffee like this is not for the busy person rushing out in the morning for work. You probably already know that, but I feel like its necessary to mention. I'll usually pour water until I don't see a crema anymore. I've found that you can speed up the process a little if you pick up the filter just over the rim and gently shake it from side to side to encourage the water to go through. The water will resist going down by the end of the process, so this seems to help. It also helps getting all the grinds to the bottom of the filter so it's cleaner when you throw the grinds away (it hits the garbage in one chunk rather than splatter all over the place).4) I'm still playing around with the best grind size. What I've found is grinding your beans to different sizes and combining it all makes the best combination. So I'll grind my beans to regular drip coffee, cone, and espresso, and combine all the sizes. This helps with the water going through and makes for a great flavor profile.Hope this helps! I highly recommend this product; don't be afraid of coming over to the pour over side! Your coffee will be more delicious than you ever expect and you'll never want to drink coffee any other way again!

Bought for use in a class B van however,
Pros-it’s fun to use and the brew is tasty. Fairly easy to make a cup in a few minutes. Looks great on any counter was one of the appeals that drew me in. Good size for a limited space/storage situation with the 2 piece design. Use the built in filter or paper filter - even at home the paper filter is best solution for me.Cons-2 piece setup doesn’t attach, do don’t knock the top over! No issues so far just fyi. Again, the included metal filter works fine, but in a camper (limited water) to rinse and clean after each brew (will not let any grinds go down the RV sink) I immediately bought a large pack of cheap paper filters and they work great- zero mess but does add to the waste can. And a biggie here. I love the mug but the base is too big for for a couple of my vehicle’s so have hold onto it. I use hot just boiled water but the brew isn’t that hot when finished? Which actually I use the lowest heat setting on the Kureig anyway but this is only sort of warm??Last con-uses more coffee per brew vs. my reusable k-cup. Toting a lot of coffee for the Stanley is a consideration when packing for travel in a small space. So—I’ll keep it for the house- it’s cool and fun to use at home with a good tasting brew. (I use retail Maxwell or Folgers medium ground) it’s economical and good enough coffee for me!However, I’ll buy a slim Kureig’s for the Sprinter so I can reuse my old refillable k-cup and have the handy attached water tank as well.

Great purchase
Perfect set and really durable. Easy to pack for travel or use at home. The mug keeps the temperature warm for a long time or cold if that’s what you’re looking for. Taste is great and easy to use. The filter washes out really easy. The drip coffee container fits many mugs and wide mouth mason jars so versatility is there. Just make sure your coffee grounds aren’t too fine.
