Go to for surfing
I use these every time I surf on the central coast of California. They keep my ears safe from water entering and creating hearing issues. The cold water is not good long term for your ears. They are cheap enough that if I lose one, I am not too sad. They also work well on planes.

Swim a straight line, dry as can be!
These babies got their first spin in the pool this morning, and son of a gun they are GOOD!The silicone is very soft - almost so soft I feared I wouldn't be able to get the traction needed to insert the plugs. I used a gentle hand and took my time, and lo and behold, they filled my outer ear canal. The pool area went quiet (or so it seemed). I got into the pool, pushed off, and hoped for the best. Not a DROP! Not one drop of water entered my ear canal. I am a FAN!I purchased the 3-pack, two sets of plugs per pack, and I encourage any swimmer to order more than you think you will need. It is way to easy to lose one ear plug - these are small - and swimming with just one ear plug causes you to list to starboard from one end of the pool to the other.5 stars to be sure!

Worked perfectly for me - total water isolation in extreme surf
I have tried a few of these ear plugs and none of them seemed to fit right or completely block out water. These are perfect for me. They give total water isolation and stay in place even in some pretty extreme surf. You loose a bit of hearing for sure, but if you have a perforated ear drum and you want to keep water out of your ear canals, these are perfect.

Good stuff
Good earplugs for swimmers, not perfect but still better than other brands I know.

These don't keep the water out... at all.
I had a hole in my eardrum and was traveling to Mexico and needed a solution to keep water out until I had surgery to repair the hole. These were not it, at all. They might protect you from splashes... but that's kinda it. Glad I had some antibiotic drops on hand because water most definitely got in my ear.

FAR SUPERIOR to the silicone balls
OMG I can't believe what a difference using these has made for swimming. I tried the silicone balls off and on for awhile, and even when I could get them to seal, they did not feel comfortable, and often didn't stay sealed. However, these are so easy to get airtight right away, and because they "screw" in, they stay put. AND they are more comfortable. Wish I had found these years ago! Edited to add that I have used the same pair repeatedly, and they still work great!

Worked as advertised!
These worked so well. I have a terrible time whenever keeping water out of my ears when I swim. These plugs allowed me to go snorkeling while on vacation with no issues at all. Wish I had known about these sooner.

Work fine sometimes, at other times get a little water ...
Work fine sometimes, at other times get a little water in an ear but definitely better than the norm. I am always careful to twist them out to prevent injury to ear. The clear is hard to see them and keep track of them. I use them every morning at the pool.
