Perfect steamer.
Cooks your veggies very quickly, in fact faster than boiling, easy to clean, I like the nickel free feature too. Takes up quite a bit of space in storage so make sure you find it a nice home and take care of it. So far it has been a beautiful addition to our kitchen and has a large food capacity, excellent product!

So happy! Have a couple other Homichef pans and a knife. Excellent quality and so beautiful. Last night steamed frozen corn with raw bok choy. Very quick and easy. Depending how long the steamer is on the heat, the handles may get hot so be careful and use pot holders I will use the steamer every day since I am a veggie lover. So far I have also steamed Swiss Chard, a portobello mushroom at the same time as fresh zucchini, fresh asparagus, frozen green beans, frozen pre-cooked shrimp to thaw, but I left them in the steamer too long and they became a bit chewy. Also the tails were too hot on my fingers to remove, so I dipped in cold water for a second. It was much better and quicker than putting the shrimp in a bowl with warm water. Maybe raw shrimp would work better. The strainer pot is large enough to spread out a few separste items and steam at the same time. Love this steamer. Can cook without worrying about a pot boiler over. It cuts down on having to wash multiple bowls and pots and veggies aren’t soggy from boiling. The 3 pieces are not heavy to lift. Easy to clean. I tried corn on the cob but it was taking too long so I dropped the cobs of corn into the lower pot of boiling water for a few minutes with some small potatoes. Very versatile cooking tool. The price is reasonable for 3-pieces of high quality cookware. Also it looks gorgeous on top of my stove!!

I bought this set predominantly for the steamer insert. I love how the steamer will fit larger pots (everywhere else is mainly just selling the 16/18/20cm insert). Overall, it feels quite sturdy. Although the pot is on the small side, I was able to steam a whole duck with it without needing to refill.

I bought this steamer to augment the full set I bought from the same company. It's the best steamer I've ever had. Here's my full review of the set and the company, both of which I highly recommend: First and foremost, these are nickel free. I got them because my hair was falling out and so nickel-free cookware was recommended. Within a month, my hair stopped falling out! I can't tell you how happy this makes me! These pots and pans are beautiful and very easy to use. They do have a tiny bit of a learning curve regarding cleaning and caring for them but now that I've had them for a while, I'm being a bit less diligent about it and they're still doing fine. There are a few features I really like about them. They are: 1. If you treat the skillet and fry pan as recommended in the accompanying pamphlet, they become totally non-stick! I was really surprised because I've never experienced anything like this in stainless products! 2. They have a bit of a smaller footprint, and so are a bit taller than other brands (i.e., they're narrower and deeper). This is really, really great if you're cooking candy or anything that needs a thermometer clipped to the side. The thermometer will stay put yet not touch the bottom of the pot which is exactly what you want. 3. It's recommended that you don't use them on a high-heat setting so it does take a bit longer for the contents to heat up. However, once they do, WATCH OUT! The heat distribution is extraordinary so you can really turn the heat way down and still have your food cook beautifully. I now start out with medium heat, and they end up turning it down to almost the lowest setting to continue. But be warned, this means you have to keep an eye on your pots so that they don't boil over before you turn the heat down. 4. Some of the pots are beautifully etched with measurements on the inside. Because the marks are etched (laser?), you never have to worry about them flaking or fading. I'll try to remember to update with a picture later. I've decided to augment my set with two smaller pots (I LOVE them!), one medium pot, and soon, a smaller stock pot. People, I cannot praise this cookware enough! But I can add one more thing--the customer service is exemplary. The best I have ever experienced and I'm a real stickler for good customer service! I recommend both the items and the company very highly.

Very nice solid piece of kitchen equipment that makes steaming larger quantities of veggies easy. I finally gave up on the fold-out basket types of steamers and bought this grown up version. Simply because I own this useful piece, my family is served (and therefore eats) more veggies. Also, I use it as a strainer for pasta, and for making fresh cheeses ... a multi-tasker! What's better than a multi-tasker, eh?
