Must have if you have Saraswat Heritage
This book is a home tradition amongst Konkani Brahmins and Saraswat folks - must've have. If you are a novice and have no cooking experience, refrain from buying, because I have seen reviews of people who have no idea how to cook at all - buy this historic, traditional keep and then are dissatisfied.

Not up to expectations!
I was quite disappointed with this book. I was expecting a lot more and found the contents lacking in a lot of directions. I guess this would work for an experienced cook!

As essential as salt to me
My grandfather had got this book years ago. For over a decade I have used this book for all kinds of saraswat and non-saraswat recipes. It has been indispensable during my journey cooking for myself for the first time as a student into married life. My copy is soiled with the food I cooked with it, and broken into several parts - but I can never do without it.

Rasachandrika
I received this book from my mother-in-law as a wedding present when she heard that I can't cook and now I can cook all these delicious dishes every day!Raschandrika is the premier guide to unique Indian Saraswat Cooking, with tons of vegetarian recipes listed by vegetables, along with non-vegetarian recipes, home remedies, useful hints and Hindu festivals' menu. These recipes are cooked every day in Saraswat homes which you will not see in any other cookbooks or Indian restaurants. All the recipes in this book are successful, simple and easy to follow, and the flavors are a delight to the most demanding eater. The spices used in the recipes are the most common spices you will find in your spice cupboard.I strongly recommend this book for a beginner, intermediate or an expert cook.
