Gun Tote'n Mamas Concealed Carry Raven Shoulder Pouch

I rely heavily on other consumer comments before buying items and this pouch was no exception. When I take my dog for a walk I definitely must take a few items and my cell phone and house key are 2 necessities. I was tired of pocketing my phone with the worry that it may slip out so I was looking for a "phone pouch" that I could use which could also be used for other outings as well. I then also wanted the ability to conceal carry if needed when I am not able to carry IWB. While searching through Amazon.com I came across this item and was impressed by other comments but was still unsure whether this would fit my needs so I asked some questions. Any purse of higher quality will be pricier but well worth it and I have several other GTM purses in various sizes depending on needed for casual or dressier functions. Since I owned a few different handguns and wanted to carry the smaller, I knew I could possibly use this shoulder pouch and I was right. My choice of carry is S&W M&P either Shield or Bodyguard and I was pleasantly surprised to find there is plenty of room for either along with an extra magazine as well and the weight is evenly distributed with no footprint whatsoever. Plus there is plenty of room in the other zipped compartments for other necessities such as keys, pen, RFID area for credit cards, zipped area for cash/change, plus some other things as well AND still without being bulky or heavy. The only item I cannot carry are my sunglasses but I can easily buy a case with a clip to attach to exterior. The little velcro space that some claim can hold their cell phone does not work for my Iphone 6s as too much of the phone sticks out (a good 2-3 inches) which could risk it falling out. I did, however, find that it is perfect for holding personal ID such as DL/photo ID/CCW permit or even car key...something for quick access. I decided to carry my phone in the front side-zippered section so I know it's secure but easily accessible. The strap is wide but I really don't understand the negative comments. I tried it crossbody with no complaints and just had the doubled portion of the strap along my back shoulder as extra precaution in the event someone would try to cut it off of me. The zippers are strong, stitched well (entire purse is made well), and slide very nicely but won't accidentally open. Bottom line, great quality and style. This will now become my everyday purse and I can even use it for a dressy occasion shortening the strap and wearing over one shoulder. Since the purse doesn't have any frilly decor on it, I guess it could be used by either gender. I highly recommend and know I will get many years of use with this purse due to the quality. The cost is well worth it.

This is my third color and the only one that rubbed off. But the purse itself is terrific that’s why I have it in 3 colors.

Didn’t care much for the fact it was shipped in a plastic bag, that was already ripped, but okay whatever. Looking at it out of the bag there were scuffs already on it. Then as soon as I opened it, first thing I saw was a made in China sticker, sighh. The leather is very subtle and did feel pretty good. The stitching and zippers also appeared to be right on the mark. I’m carrying the Ruger LC9S with Crimson Trace, and it fit in the included universal holster. The phone slot, and the back zippered pocket, are just a hair to small for a 12 Pro Max and then with my wallet, a bifold, there is no way to get all three in here comfortably. This is just not for me.

Love this bag. I don’t carry a lot of stuff in a purse so the size was fine for me. If you carry a lot of stuff this bag will not be the one for you. You can fit the important things in your bag but the bulk of your gun will make it hard to use the other pockets beside the one for your Wallet and keys maybe a small pen size flashlight. The little front Velcro pocket that is for your phone is out dated. New phones won’t fit there. I put my keys there instead. Makes it easy to get to them. I love the back compartment for my firearm. I personally like mine to be going up and down more like my normal draw. You can put it in side to side also. It is great for left or right draw. The Velcro is study and keeps the gun in place when drawn. There is a “string” on the top corners of the zipper on the upper left and right corner. This helps pull the zipper open making it easy to draw. There is a video on how to do this.The leather is amazing. The strap is thick and sturdy with the wire cable running through it. You can wear it crossbody easily and comfortably or over the shoulder.This is a great option if you can’t carry on body or you’re not comfortable carry on body yet.Just remember it is more for “carrying” than carrying your stuff. This company has larger bags if you need them. Quality is great. Choice a bag that will work for you. You won’t be sorry.

So, there are a couple youtube videos on this purse so I don't feel I need to go into excruciating detail on the specifics.The things that surprised me:Gun compartment truly does fit an enormous pistol. I fit a Taurus Judge 3" Cyl 3" Barrel into this thing with no print at all. I do not always carry that because the zippers get a little snug (same with full size 1911, it's tight but it fits without a doubt). And with an M&P 9c and two mags it gets a little heavy to carry around all day (because i NEVER take it off) But with my little airweight .38 Spl with 2 speed loaders its amazing!The steel cable reinforced "cut proof" strap seems very sturdy but not too obvious.The leather is regular purse leather and feels a little "pleathery" A feature noted in one of the videos is the ability to move the straps to (as you are looking at the picture) the 11 O'clock and the 7 o'clock position to carry the bag horizontally more as a messenger bag. Mine did not come with a bracket there to position it in such a way. Not in any a design flaw, but it would be nice to have that option.You definitely need to keep your old wallet or clutch also, there are no specific pockets for cards, bills or change integrated.The "cell phone holder pocket" will only securely hold a small phone. Some say it fits an Iphone perfectly, but my Droid Razr needs to be kept in the back pocket which works fantastic anyway.Summary:For the $80 or so I paid for it, well worth the money. I would buy one for every girl in my family but those carpetbagger purses are pretty popular and I dont think they would part from them. If you love simplicity and being safe, this is very much so for you.Also, the specs on this purse state that it can be safely shot through. I'm very tempted to find out.
