PERFECT for our needs!
This is PERFECT to transport my Mom's insulin pens (Humulin-N KwikPen) when we travel. There's plenty of room to store up to 4 pens or fewer pens plus other medication she uses that requires refrigeration. The case is a good size (5-4/5" x 8-4/5") and fits nicely into a purse or briefcase (or REALLY LARGE pocket). It's completely enclosed with a zipper than opens/closes from both ends (2 zipper pulls). The inside mesh pocket (in front of the insulated pocket that holds the HOT/COLD gel pack) is held shut with a 1.5" strip of velcro at center pocket. The external zippered mesh pocket is just a tad bit smaller (due to stitching) than the external dimensions, with ample room to hold extra pen needles, alcohol swabs, or other items. With 4 KwikPens in it, the case closes easily; plenty of room to hold other items provided they're not too thick. The gel pack is a HOT/COLD pak, with instructions on how to how best to freeze (x 2-3 hrs) or heat (10 seconds intervals in microwave until it's hot enough, but not too hot that you'll burn yourself). My only complaint is that the gel pak, when frozen, must be pushed into the pocket (gently) to zip close. I imagine you'll have to be careful when opening the case to make sure the frozen gel pack doesn't fall out (I'll mark TOP to indicate which way is up to avoid the pack falling out when I open it). Other than the frozen gel pack issue, this medicine cool (or heated) travel case is PERFECT!! Well constructed, plenty of storage, completely closable with 2-pull zipper, and great value. Would recommend this highly to anyone!

Ideal for Travelling with Meds that Must Remain Cold
This is the perfect travel bag for Insulin. It will keep the medicine cold for as long as the included ice pack does not completely melt within the well-insulated bag. It is well-designed, small but very efficient. If you have to travel with meds that must be refrigerated, this is one of those "Must Have" items.

Better for shorter durations
I recently moved and had to transport my cat's insulin through a 13-hour drive. By the time I arrived at my new place, the ice pack was room temperature and so were the insulin pens. Thankfully she is currently on Lantus, and the effectiveness of the insulin does not appear to have changed, but if she were still on an insulin like Prozinc that requires constant refrigeration, it might have been an expensive loss. That said, the mesh pocket is a great feature to keep all of your supplies easily at hand. And when I stopped about 5 hours into the drive to test my cat's BG and give her a shot, the gel pack and insulin pens were still cold. This pack would be great for shorter time periods, as advertised. But if you need something for a longer trip, or if it's critical to your insulin's effectiveness to keep it fridge-temperature, then I would keep looking.

Worked great on a very long trip
Just returned from a trip to China. With a flight of over 24 hours this held up great. The ice pack worked great for about 12 hours or so. After that the flight attendant gave me a sickness bag with a little bit of ice and I used that for the remainder of the trip. Yes, the outside of the pack got a little wet, but the insulin remained cool. I used it to hold over 10 bottles of insulin and a couple bottles of eye drops that needed to also remain cool. Everything came through going and coming home just fine. worked great the entire time.

Well worth it!
Great product - fits all of my supplies and more, and is slim enough to fit inside my purse without being too bulky at all. Great price for a great value.

"Gel" pack freezes rock hard
The included "gel" pack is not like the pain reliever gel packs at the drug store - rather, it freezes rock hard. Just be aware. I wish the elastic slots were tighter so the could hold a syringe. I'm sure they are fine for pens but not syringes.

Works well.
Great for travel, although the ice pack is a little skimpy. I upgraded it with my own that I found in a local store. Now it works just perfect.
