This product works as advertised.With many, or most, notebook computers being made without the usual RJ45 connection this product allows for simple direct connection to network box to enjoy those fast internet speeds that are being paid for. WiFi is not always a great solution to use, so having the ability to have this hard wire connection is a blessing.

As far as I can tell, this is the only Ethernet to USB-C adapter cord. The other adapters are short things that have a giant dongle attached to your laptop, where it can easily snag or get in the way.Please give it a good rating so they will keep making it. It seems well made and durable, but it is a thin wire and eventually (with the abuse I give it), it will need to be replaced, so I hope they will still be making it!

This actually works great. I was skeptical of it's performance simply because I never used USB type C for internet. The wifi signal in my dorm room is quite slow at around 100 Mbps, but ethernet is about 700Mbps download and upload. After I plugged this in, I had to first register the MAC address for my school's IT department, then it finally started working.If you're in school and trying to access the internet through ethernet to USB type C, first plug it into the computer and go to network settings. Click on the ethernet tab and scroll down, then look for something like physical address(MAC). That should be the address to register if required.Other than that, it's pretty much plug and play.

Had no problem with the network it was recognized right away.

The design is very considerate. The thin cable makes for easy storage and easy cable management. The USB-C end of the cable is simple and uncluttered. The cable works perfectly.

I am currently doing most of my classes online from my college dormitory. The WiFi here is actually really good, and I have little to no issues with video latency during video conferences. With that said, I wanted to be a step above the rest by using a wired connection for an even faster connection. I took a speed test using the network wirelessly, and a speed test using the ethernet connection. Here are the results:Wireless-Ping: 38msDownload: 69.46MbpsUpload: 119.28MbpsEthernet-Ping: 27msDownload: 116.94MbpsUpload: 453.85MbpsNeedless to say, this cable works like a charm. My only problem was managing to authenticate my connection so I can use my campus wired network, but that is only another step to do if you have a secured network. Other than that, this cable was pretty much plug and play!

Waiting for this 4th ethernet adapter purchase now (2 from this seller). All of these ethernet adapters seems to be poorly made, and created to stop functioning within 1-2.5 months of moderate use. I am hardwiring my devices to reduce EMF/RF exposure, since it leads to extreme oxidative stress in the body, and potentially cancers/diseases. I have purchased 4 different ones from 3 different sellers. My 1st and 2nd were HP brands, and the other 2, Moyina brand. Both the origanal purchases of HP failed, and the replacement for each purchase failed (4 HP'S in all failed).I could not keep connected to my network after about 4-10 weeks of moderate use with the HP ones. The first Moyina one lasted the longest, but just stopped functioning well also. So far, not one of the RJ45 adapters endured moderate use for long. I am disappointed that they are not made to function for at least 2 years.Still hoping for a long lasting non mobile/wireless options for my Samsung S8+, or for a tablet. Trial and error continues.....I wonder if the hubs are any better.....

It just works, no drives required at all. Now I can get rid of my usb-c to RJ45 convertor.

I’ve used this with a few different devices now and it works well and seems like a solid build. Nice for MacBooks that are limited to USB-C only but I’ve also used it with my Dell tablet and with a router I have with USB-C LAN port for testing. Works nicely.

I bought it for my Chromecast because the adapter I bought it from Google is burned out after 2 months and they won't return or exchangeso I bought this one but I miss one thing which is USB, if you want it extend the storage as well this one is not good for you, but I heard you can use it for your laptop as well
