Bear Can't Wait (The Bear Books)

I have been a long time fan of the Karma Wilson "Bear" books. I started reading them to my preschool sons who are now high schoolers! I'm still buying them because we all still enjoy the stories and they will make a nice collection for grandchildren someday.This book is another great story about Bear and his friends planning a birthday party for a special friend. The author perfectly captures the excitement and eagerness of Bear in anticipation of all the fun. We have all felt theses same emotions as well as witnessed them in our own children as they await a birthday or holiday celebration. This book would be great to read prior to a celebration to help a child understand the fun in anticipation and planning something special for others as well as the joy as the celebration unfolds. The illustrations by Jane Chapman are delightful as ever and bring the characters so much warmth. This is one of my favorite Bear books and I'm so glad I added it to my collection. The author and illustrator are a dynamic duo who will keep me coming back for more.

Better than expected! I was expecting a small board book, but got a nice hard covered book and the story is exactly as cute as all “Bear” books. My preschoolers love this one just as much as the others!

I have been collecting children’s picture books for many years. The Bear books, written by Karma Wilson and illustrated by Jane Chapman are some of the very best ever written. Clever rhymes and repetitive text make Bear Can’t Wait a perfect book for young children just beginning to learn the basics of rhyming words. Repetition of the phrase “Bear can’t wait” creates an opportunity for young listeners to participate as the story unfolds. Jane Chapman’s illustrations bring the story to life, and, as always, the sweetness and concern of the characters for each other can be seen in their facial expressions and so many adorable little touches, like Bear’s bow tie and the little party hats and more. As a former kindergarten teacher and now, a grandparent, i highly recommend Bear Can’t Wait and all the other books in the Bear book series. Five stars for sure.

My toddler twins love bear! We read “Bear Can’t Wait” and “Bear Wants More” every night at bedtime and often at nap time too. The rhythm and rhyme of the Bear books make them some of my favorites to read aloud. The illustrations are cute, too!

We LOVE the Bear books and this one is a very sweet addition to our collection. Both of my boys (3 and 6) love it.

We love the bear books. So cute. The illustrations are adorable. The story lines teach lessons in an entertaining manner.

This book was wonderful. I was waiting on pins and needles for it to be released! We read all of the Karma Wilson books 2 times this year and my students loved the new edition!

Wifes a teacher and likes the "Bear" books author has quite as few and they are a hit in her class as well as at home, beautifully illustrated and kept on par with the rest of these books.

We have purchased all of the "Bear“ books, and this one, like the rest, is fantastic. Our son enjoys it and it is a nice story. My only complaint would be this doesn't come in the 'board' book variation so it doesn't sit as nicely with the rest of the collection, but it is wonderful and recommended.
