Works great - lid is top heavy though
This cooler works great. I tested the cooling and heating and the results were surprising. Plugged into household current, the box cooled down to about 38 degree F in about an hour (from room temperature). I switched it over to heat from that temperature and it topped out at around 148 in little over an hour. An excellent solution to traveling with food. It won't cook the food for you, but it will keep it at a safe temperature. I have not tried it powered by my truck yet, but I would have to assume it will perform the same.My only complaint is the lid is very top heavy because it has the cooling/heating unit and fan in it. So if the cooler is empty or only partially full, it will tip over. Also, the handle will secure the lid closed - 100% guaranteed that it is in that position when I try to open it!For the price I paid ($25 in "Used" condition) I am extremely satisfied and I bought several extras as gifts. I'm not sure if I'd paid the full price of over $100 for it though.

Great Travel Cooler
I purchased this for a week-long road trip so we could transport some essential groceries with us from one B&B to another and make lunches on-the-go without having to deal with ice or freezer packs, and it worked great. I love the dual-power option (12V & 110V) and cord storage. I also like being able to lock the lid by moving the handle into the appropriate position. It fit perfectly under the cargo cover in the back of our Rav4 and ran just fine off of the switched 12V power port back there. It ran quietly; we could hear it running only when the engine wasn't. Even indoors, the sound wasn't very noticeable. It was just the right size for our needs, which typically included a quart of milk, lunch meat, sliced cheeses, mayo, yogurt cups, carrot & celery sticks, and some small drinks. We even used it to keep some chocolates cool as we drove. I chose to transfer everything to refrigerators each night (which didn't always have a freezer suitable for refreezing ice packs), but would plug the cooler in to 110V for 30 minutes or so in the morning prior to loading it as per the suggestions of other users. It did a great job keeping our food cool during multiple, full days of travel, even when being opened several times, and I loved not having to purchase ice, drain water, or worry about refreezing freezer packs. The only thing I ran into that was less-than-optimal was that it is a bit top-heavy and prone to tipping over when the lid is open and the unit is empty, but it was easy enough to hold it or prop it against a wall or cabinet until I put in something heavy enough to keep it upright. And I have to say that I do like that the cooling section is entirely self-contained in the lid which is removeable for cleaning and storage, so the tipping doesn't bother me much. The cord cover could be just a bit stronger/robust as sometimes the 110V cord would push up on it (even when run in the cord groove) due to holding it's memory from being wound up in the storage area. It wasn't a functional problem, but just a minor cosmetic observation.Overall, this seems to be a great unit and I highly recommend it for replacing a typical ice cooler.

Works well nice size
Keeps stuff cold. We have used it in hotel and vehicle. Make sure that you chill your items first otherwise it will take some time to get them cold. Once stuff is cold it stays that way.

Very convenient to have in the car
We bought this to use in the car for a road trip. We are three weeks and 6,000 miles into the road trip and this has given us no problems at all. We have a built in 120V receptacle in the vehicle and that's what we are using, not the 12 volt. We basically ran it for 48 hours straight for the first two days. That was a little much for it. The top was getting hot. What we were doing was taking the cooler from the car into the hotel and plugging it right in. That was running it too much. So what we started to do then was run it in the car during the day, and then empty the cooler into the fridge in the hotel at night. We then load it up again in the morning. That has been working well. The cooler will keep things cold (we're not using the heater function) but it really doesn't cool things from outside temperature to cold. That being said, where we are it is in the high 80's. So it's a lot to ask to cool it down from there to really cold. Bottom line, my wife and I are glad that we purchased this. We are still on the trip and still using it, and it's nice to be able to reach into it and get a cold drink or healthy snacks without having to stop and pay convenience store prices.

Absolutely Useless!
After it was delivered, I plugged it in at home to see how it would work for cooling. Seemed to be OK, so I got rid of the packaging (I usually keep packaging in case I need to send back). So, then I took it camping. Plugged it in to get cold before I left, put only cold soda/water in it. and had it plugged in to the car port on the way to destination. Then, it was plugged into regular outlet on the camper. It was barely cool. Would have done much better with a regular cooler and ice. This was totally useless and now is too late to send back. Don't waste your money!
