LOVE this paper lantern. Wish I could afford a real Noguchi, but since that's not in my budget I "sprung" for this instead. It's perfect. It add's warmth and light to my living room....having it on a dimmer really helps set the mood. You cannot go wrong with this.

It’s large and gives off big soft light, depending on which kind of bulb I use in it. Yes, it’s paper wrapped around metal wires, but that’s what makes it so cool. Just be careful with it! I collapse it down flat and expand it all the time for photo shoots and I only have one little tear on it. I patched it with a small piece of clear scotch tape and forgot where the tear is. So... buy and be gentle. It provides great atmosphere and people tend to gravitate to it and ask about it.

I used this product to make a giant disco ball for a production of Xanadu. It worked great as a base and we covered it with reflector tape used to deter birds, added a little weight inside to keep it from swinging and it worked great!

I purchased this lantern to try making a semi-flush mount light fixture.In my opinion, the large scale, true white color, and ribbed paper texture of this lantern are all very appealing. It is very thin paper- if anyone is wondering.Compared to the cost of a Noguchi or Nelson light, this DIY experiment feels like a worthy endeavor.In one of my photos, I have it on my dining table (for scale). The diameter of that table is 45”. You can see how it dwarfs the fixture above it. Much better!! Also, included in the package is a metal brace of sorts to hold it open.Side note- no assembly instructions included, however, you can find some on You Tube that will also show you how to add various led light sources.

Purchased to make a Saturn costume for My 6yo. We had to modify the lantern by duct taping, cutting and re-wiring in different places but the lantern held up way better than expected. Slightly too big though as this ball/costume also fits an adult, but definitely better quality than expected.

Bought this paper shade for my dining room. Dozens of holes, straight out of the package..I had actually bought two of them, and when the first one arrived with holes, I assumed it had been damaged in shipping. But apparently there is no quality control.Too late for me to return either of the ones that I bought but I hope you will save your money!!!!

Perfect. I made a totem of sorts for a music festival. Camped in the woods and needed to be able to find my tent in the dark in a sea of tents. I added a 60ft bundle of warm white fairy lights with a little hanging out then strung it up to hang from a high branch. It was beautiful and guided others home too as a landmark. Recommended. Very large. Which is very good.
