Q: Can you use cooking oil in this?

I find the best is to mix 50% clear lamp oil with 50% kerosene for an economical clean burning, bright light solution. You can take it to 25% lamp oil and 75% Kerosene, and still get a relatively clean burn and good light. Both are easy on the wallet.

Q: Is it a 1/2" wick or a 3/4" ? or will either size fit the lamp?

The specs say 1/2 inch. But the wick provided in my lamp measures 9/16. 3/4 will not fit.

Q: is this made in USA? some reviews say its made in China.

It says made in China on the bottom. I hate that. It is hard to find oil Lamps anymore, even harder to find made in USA
