APEC Whole House pH+ Alkaline Calcium Mineral Water Filter Cartridge 10 Micron (24,000 Gallons Capacity FI-PHPLUS20-BB)

The filter cartridge did more than I expected in a short period of time. Once installed all tests were well within acceptable limits in just 24hrs. No more green stains laundry is cleaner, water tastes better. Very pleased. Be aware of how heavy this cartridge is though.

This pH+ alkaline filter will NOT keep your pH level at 7.0 for 22,000 gallons. At best, 3 days max and then it starts dropping below that. 6.9, 6.8, 6.7 not 7.0, but not bad enough to corrode your copper pipes. I use it for ease of use. It is easier to change than a huge cylinder. Yes, I will purchase this product again.

I bought this to increase the Ph. I don't care about the 10 micron filter. I already have a 50, 10, 1, and .05 micron filter and a UV light on my system. July 23, 2021. I installed this on my well system in June of this year without any headaches. Used the big blue housing. I installed it after the pressure tank. So it handles 60 pounds of pressure with no problem. I'm using the Apera Ph testing kit, also purchased here on Amazon. Which is incredibly accurate. Our water is normally around 6.61 Ph. So slightly acidic. Within the first few days of installing the filter we were right at 7.01 Ph. Today is July 23 and we are back to 6.61 levels. I plan to take the filter out and check the integrity and maybe shake it around a little to disturb the calcite inside that has settled from the pressure. The meter on our system says we used 2,670 gallons of water since June 23. The filter is rated for 24,000 gallons. This filter should last us 9 months but has only lasted a few days. The part that is misleading is they say it is rated for 24,000 gallons but is that the filter or the calcite? The 10 micron filter might be good for that much water but the calcite is only good for 1 week. I'll have to call the manufacturer direct to find out if the 24,000 covers both the filter and calcite.

This product has worked great! Had my water tested three times at different places and was told that I have the cleanest water they’ve ever seen!

Worked good just make sure you flush cartridge well.

Time consuming project. Bought this filter to raise water PH level, also purchased recommended standard Big Blue Housing as well. Despite, the description that this filter fits any 20" standard Big Blue housing - it does not. The upper opening of the filter does not seem to fit in any of the two different Big Blue Housing that I tried. Called customer service to have them direct me to a right housing that I can purchase on Amazon, instead got a pitch to buy the housing from them directly at DOUBLE the cost that Amazon offers. Not even sure if it actually works or not yet. But the opening of the filter must be the same size and fit over the extension coming out of the housing.

Have a well and very acidic water. Bought the product to neutralize the water and save my copper pipes. Received it, installed it and hardly had any water pressure at all. Pulled it out only to notice the housing was cracked. I don't think that had any thing to do with the water pressure though. Had the same water pressure issue with another company. Contacted them and they sent me a new housing unit with a different style filter on top. I poured the calcite from the old housing to the new one and it worked perfectly. This filter that was sent by Apec looks exactly like the 1st one I got from Intelafil.

We installed this filter because, during the sale of a home, the pH came back at 6.1, acidic by EPA standards. This filter was advertised to raise the pH for 24,000 gallons. On days 1, 2 and 3 it did not work as advertised. We uninstalled it and installed a chemical feeder instead (to the tune of $1500). Save yourself the money and headache, skip this product.
