These screws are crap.
The ad says self-drilling, the box of screws that they sent say self piercing. The photo on amazon is of a self tapping/ drilling screw. The screws that they sent are threaded all the way to the point and take a long time just to pierce aluminum. Can't use them for what I intended. Very misleading.

Self-drills quickly
The self-drilling screws worked very well on aluminum soffits. They drilled immediately without any effort. Most self-drilling screws that I've used take some effort and a few seconds to bite and drill into the material.

Quality at a low price
Used these to mount poultry netting on my picket fence after my small dog found out he could squeeze through the space between the pickets. no worries about rust because of the plating and the drill tip makes for a fast installation. Also cheaper than the local hardware.

don't be fooled
Don't go by the picture. These are NOT self drilling screws as shown. They're cheaply made sheet metal screws with a truss head. I tried pre-drilling the holes and the screw threads still strip out. I learned a lesson here and hopefully prevent others fom the same one.

self piercing not self drilling
ordered these screws for a project all the info says self-drilling package said self piercing and the screws did not have the drilling part

Not What Pictured
Received item and it is 'self-piercing' not 'self-drilling' as pictured and described. Part numbers matched so the right item was sent by the order picker it's just the description is wrong. Amazon giving full refund and allowing me to keep item. Kudos to them!
