Teacher-approved! Review: Brain Quest is a wonderful gift for children - I love the Brain Quest series. I purchased them for my son almost 30 years ago and he loved them. I am now buying these for his daughter and she loves them as well. We are now up to the 2nd Grade level but started 3 years ago. Adding the workbooks is fantastic as it keeps her brain busy. Just for the record, my granddaughter is in 1st grade but to keep her mind occupied we are a year ahead for the Brain Quest. Review: We Love These (Kids do too!) - We have three from the series and they are a lot of fun. The difficulty level of questions doesn't exactly go with what the kids are learning at school, but for the most part we find that the questions are best at one grade higher. For example, my 1st grader can tackle most of the 2nd grade questions and my kindergartener is on par with the first grade set. One of the best benefits is that it give parents an opportunity to talk about topics that may not be covered in your child's classroom. For example, nouns and verbs or geography and anything else that is not part of the new common core curriculum. These are also great to stick in your pocket and pull out when you are waiting at a restaurant, doctor's office or any time you are looking to kill a few minutes in a fun and educational way.

My grandkids love this, and they are learning while having fun.
I have purchased three others, starting with pre-school, then kindergarten, and first grade. They are in 2nd grade now, and were anxious to try this. I started asking the questions, and they would choose, from pictures, the answers. Now that they are reading, they like to do this on their own. I like that it's educational.

Challenging and fun!
My son is 6 and in K going into 1st but he's slightly ahead academically. While I purchased the 1st grade decks as well, he knows a majority of the things and it's more like review. For the second grade decks it's more challenging for him so he's actually having to learn new things. Such a fun way to pass the time in quarantine and it opens a slew of conversation for quality time. I loved these as a kid, my older child did too. These decks never get old!

Brain Quest
I bought this for my 6 year old who is in kindergarten. He tends to be somewhat precocious, so I felt this was our closest match. He gets most of them right, and most of the ones he misses, he learns from. There are very few that are totally over his head. He really enjoys doing them, so I'd say we chose the right one! It's hard for me to say if the grade/age label is accurate - I am inclined to say its not. My daughter, who is in Pre-K, and young for her grade, does great with the kindergarten cards. I probably have higher standards, because I am a teacher, but I would not consider my daughter to be particularly advanced academically. These cards are great. I'd say the trick is to make sure you get the appropriate age/grade for your kid, because they may not match with your child's actual age and grade.

Pretty good
They’re a good level for my child who is entering second grade soon. We’ve done every set from the preschool set to this. However, we just finished our 1st grade set and I have to say I’ve noticed a lot of repeats from that set are reused here which is disappointing.

Great learning tool!
My daughter loves to do these Brain Quest Question cards! We like to do workbooks as well, but these cards can go anywhere! They are all attached so no mess. She can do just a few or many, depending on her mood. She got these in the middle of the first grade. However, since she works above average, the Brain Quest Grade 2 is very appropriate for her. Many concepts she already knows while for others she is getting a head start. This is her 4th set, having already completed pre-K, K and 1st grade. These have been just a wonderful tools to add to my child's learning! Our schools do a great job but students also benefit greatly from instruction at home as well.

Great for Filling in Knowledge Gaps for Grade-Skipped 2nd grader
My gifted 6yr old daughter skipped first grade and had some learning gaps from things she missed. She was particularly having some trouble with Common Core math (who isn't?) So I bought her the 2nd grade math deck of cards. We got out an old Trivia Pursuit game and used the Brain Quest cards with it. She loved it! To put it in the game context, instead of more frustrating and boring worksheets, made a huge difference. It also helped us identify fill in the knowledge gaps. We could stop and talk about things she didnt understand. We liked it so much that I bought this "general" version to use with the game, and she of course likes that it's on the iPad! I often find her using both the cards and the Kindle version herself and asking questions. A Godsend!

My 7yo loves using these flash cards. They were helpful during CoVid/home learning and great boredom busters for rainy days.
