Soft curls & waves. No frizz.
I have curly, grey with white hair. There are a lot of hair products for curly hair and a reasonable amount of products for grey and white hair but it's hard to find products for curly grey and/or white hair. Most hair products not made for grey and white hair can leave a dull, pale yellow tint to the hair. Also grey and white hair is often dry so products should include a moisturizing element. I've found that the best conditioners for me are somewhat light, leave-in conditioners. I used one specific leave-in hair conditioner and one hair gel for years but I can no longer find either product so I've been on a search for new products to replace my old favorites. I purchased Mixed Chicks Curl Defining & Frizz Eliminating Leave-In Conditioner because I was somewhat frustrated that I couldn't find a leave-in conditioner for curly grey and white hair and this conditioner seemed like a good product for most curly hair. I purchased it with a strong hold sculpting gel and used the two together. I determined I needed a gel with a more flexible hold and, although the Mixed Chicks conditioner seemed to work reasonably well, the conditioner was not developed for grey and white hair and it is a pale yellow in color so I became concerned that it might leave a dull yellow tint to hair after a while. so after only a few uses, I decided to try another conditioner that might work better for my hair. The gel that I purchased with this conditioner was strong hold style and it was took much for my hair. I decided to replace both the conditioner and the gel. I purchased Not Your Mother's Defining Curl Talk Cream, Frizz Control Curl Talk Sculpting Gel with flexible-firm hold, and Refreshing Curl Talk Foam and began using that group of hair products exclusively. I liked them very much but I still didn't have the Goldilocks just right combination. I decided to try the Mixed Chicks leave-in conditioner with the Not My Mother's Frizz Control Curl Talk Sculpting Gel this evening. After washing my hair, I added a bit of conditioner and, after working it into my hair, a dollop of the Frizz Control gel. Then I used my very professional hair styling technique; I pushed my hair around a bit, scrunched it a bit and headed out the door to the grocery with my hair still wet. The humidity was 79%. When I got home, my hair was dry, soft, nicely curly with waves, and had NO frizz. Seventy-nine percent humidity virtually guarantees frizz most of the time but not tonight! In addition to a conditioner that works well, I also will only use products that are cruelty free and have recyclable containers, although it's not always clear how recyclable the containers are when I order them to be delivered until I receive the product and can read the actual container. This conditioner has the PETA cruelty free symbol and 2 symbols that indicate the bottle is made with a recyclable, biodegradable resin. The bottle also has a symbol that indicates the conditioner is good for 18 months. I can't say for certain that this leave-in conditioner will work as well for others but I would recommend giving it a try for anyone searching for a good leave-in conditioner for curly hair. The Mixed Chicks conditioner was overpowered by the previous gel I used so I couldn't really tell how it worked. When I paired it with the Not My Mother's gel this evening my hair looked and felt like it did when I used my previous, much loved conditioner and gel combination. I am a little concerned that this conditioner my discolor my grey and white hair. The conditioner is actually a pale yellow color so it may not work in the long run. I'll update this review if it discolors my hair after using it a while.

Impressed
As a mother to 3 daughters, 2 of which are biracial and a 2 year old biracial granddaughter I have tried so many products through the years as I'm sure you have too before you read about this product. Some were thick and gross, some thin and didn't do a thing. As my granddaughter got older and her hair changed from the thin baby hair I thought to myself, " oh Lord, I never found a good product that I swear by or made anything easier". I was on the hunt and with more information now on line I was determined to find what will work without the bad chemicals because all I had to work with 20 + years ago was what they had in my local grocery store or pharmacy, not fun times for my daughter's or myself! Right away I came across Mixed Chick's and I was eager to try it. I love that it's for all hair types! I am white with unruly long dull wavy hair. I usually have to keep product in it to make sure the waves turn to more defined curls or straighten it. Our granddaughter lives with us so I couldn't wait to try this and see what it was all about, for both her and myself! It came wrapped in a plastic bag to secure it from making a mess if there were any leaks but all was intact and when I opened the bottle I was pleasantly surprised that it was filled all the way to the rim. That's a big one in my book because there's nothing like paying for a product that doesn't have as many ounces in it that it is supposed to and your paying for. So first I used this on my own hair when I got out of the shower. Taking sections of my hair and massaging Mixed Chick's leave in conditioner throughout while concentrating on the ends. I then let it air dry as I normally do. Very easy with minimal time, which says a lot with my length of hair which easily falls somewhere along the middle of my back or further. When it was dried I was left with locks with much more defined curls without the frizz! It honestly looked like I spent a lot of time on my hair or used products from the salon. I usually use a serum for somewhat of this effect but it never lasts through the day and no where as good as this. My husband complimented with a noticeable difference and have I said how it has a nice fresh smell as well! Now I needed to know how this will work for my granddaughters curls (3C). She has it in pony tails often and I really wanted to see her be able to wear her hair down letting her curls bounce freely. Besides that I really wanted her to be more comfortable at daycare and embrace those beautiful curls! After tubby time we did the same to her hair applying it in portions, using more of the creme per hair ratio for her hair. She went to bed but I could already tell her locks were so much more hydrated, exactly what I was looking for. The next morning instead of getting out her tiny bands for her hair I applied just a little more and ran my finger though hair. Voila! So simple and stunning! Her little curls look so healthy and full of bounce. Just adorable and I can't imagine how nice it must be for her to not have her hair tied up. I'm happy to know that after ALL these years not only have I found something that works but is free from harsh chemicals! Win win for us! My daugters are waiting for theirs to arrive now and if they have any kind of different results than we did I will update my review. I will be a returning customer buying the bigger bottle of this miracle.

I am Pleasantly impressed
Most products are too heavy for my hair. Not this one. This left my hair nice and light . My curls are defined. There was no frizz and my hair wasn't greasy. I love the quality and it's perfect for my texture. It was easy to apply and i loved the results. I plan on trying more products from this brand. I would definitely recommend.

Good product
Best product for looser, 3B-3C curls. Moisturizing and detangling without being too heavy for medium-fine, mixed race hair. I only recommend if you are leaving hair in its natural, curly state. It may not be the best leave in to use before using heat straighteners or curling rods/irons.

Keeps hair soft
Great product for curly hair it keeps it soft and gives it texture. Easy to use. Good quality good value for the money especially for winter time when you wear a hat you just need to run your fingers through and it goes right back to where you need it to be

My wife has combo of 2b/3c curly hair that is prone to breakage and frizz, and under recommendation from her stylist we picked up this product. According to her, its been real a game changer. Her hair seems to be much more resistant to breakage and looks very healthy and shiny after using it for a few months. She has a whole routine for the hair care but this is the leave in she says gives the best results and keeps her hair moisturized, This product in tandem with a curl cream, keeps her hair nice and defined. She just added this to her routine a few months ago and the changes has been noticeable, she loves the results and feels better about her (beautiful) curls, so I would give this product 5 stars. Wife tested, Husband approved.

I took my time to evaluate the product, and now, after my 4th purchase, I feel confident to write a review, considering the long/term results of the leave-in! I do have a 3b/3c hair, and I am a total mixed chick, with blended Jewish/African/Portuguese origins. My hair is extremely dry, and I do live close to the polar circle (so, the weather conditions do not help). Since I moved here (ca. 5 years), I've struggled to find a product suitable for my hair, and I finally found it! Before mixed chicks, I've tried all possible famous brands (Sebastian, Paul Mitchel, Deva Curl, etc), and the results were never what I was used to have in my home country. Now, I finally feel that I am investing my money in a good hair product! Mixed chicks managed to give me all the results I would like to have: well-defined curls, no frizz, controlled volume, hydrated curls and, finally, the overall look where I can recognize myself again! If your curl are above 3b, I totally recommend! As a final note, I do not recommend mixing it with Sebastian or Paul Mitchel products because I've tried and I got dandruff while combining products. However, this side-effect disappeared after I stopped mixing, and I am very happy with the product!
