Stupid Hormones! was a great effective read!
I've been struggling with hormones, body weight, mood swings and a plethora of other problems since going into menopause. I've tried vegetarian and vegan diets, to find that my weight was steadily increasing and every time I ate, I wanted to fall asleep. I was always tired and yet I couldn't sleep.I tried bio-identical hormones but the doctors seemed to be more concerned with making money than actually helping and I didn't really like the idea of taking pills to correct my out-of-wack hormones. I wanted to get educated about hormones and I found this book. It explains several different hormones and their function and what happens when we eat contrary to what our bodies need to function properly.I effortlessly dropped 11 pounds in a little over a week. I have a lot of energy and I eat! I believe in my case that soy was the huge culprit, as it is in everything processed (it is a phytoestrogen and can lead to estrogen dominance in men and women !) Eating soy is like taking estrogen at every meal. I totally cut out processed foods that contain soy and sugar and it has made a huge difference in how I look and feel. I'm so happy about finding this book and thanks to Jennifer Jolan and Rich Bryda for writing it!

Some good information, but mostly advocating paleo and pushing their other books.
Some of the information in this book was new to me, such as ginger being good for certain things, but for the most part, this is a book that is advocating the paleo diet: grain free, simple carb-free (only cruciferous veggies) high protein, high fat, and no sugar or fruit. I'm not sure how much science and research is behind this book, as there are many sources that claim certain grains help support the thyroid and other glands in the body. What I really didn't like about this book was the constant push to get two of their other books. Now they are currently only $2.99, but when I buy a book that is supposed to give me diet advice, I like to have all the information I need in that one book, and not have to go and buy two more books to supplement the information.If you are extremely uneducated about hormones and the roles they play in your body, and if you have never been introduced to Atkins, Paleo, Carb- addicts diet, or any of the hundreds of thousands of books out there advocating a low-glycemic, no sugar, low-to-no grain diet, then this book might have some useful information for you. For everyone who is educated in these matters, it might be a nice refresher, or a downright waste of time.

So glad I found this book.
My sister had mentioned her struggle with hormonal imbalances and suggested I ask my doctor to do a saliva test to see if I was in balance. Well, I thought I am not going to do that! Then I stumbled upon Jennifers book and read it to see what hormonal imbalance was all about. It REALLY hit home it was like she knew what I had been struggling with since turning 40. I immediately changed the way I ate and drank no more soda for me! In 3 weeks I had lost 8 pounds - WOW. I have since started seeing a new doctor and interesting enough she suggested a saliva test:)

I have ordered several of Jennifer's book and have never been disappointed. All of the books are on my Kindle from Amazon, so I can refer quickly to other tips offered in her other books,such as the benefits of ACV and subtle exercises that can be done throughout the day. This last book is probably the reason I have had some difficulty losing the weight that just doesn't want to come off. Jennifer identifies how hormones actually stop the weight loss from being achieved. She clearly explains what you need to do in order to get your hormones to react in positive ways to achieve your desired weight loss and to keep it off.The book is well written, easy to read and comprehend and offers solutions to fix your stubborn hormone struggle. Thanks Jennifer, I tried other methods but I'm hoping this is the final answer.

Hormones are the Key to Permanent Weight Loss!
Stupid Hormones is such a wealth of information about something that has or does plague each and every one of us--hormones out of whack. She offers in-depth discussions of many hormones and what we do to ourselves to mess them up. She also offers her wisdom, gained from her tremendous amount of research in the subject, on how we can re-align them to attain proper health once again.In reality, if you want to attain permanent weight loss, you MUST fix your hormones! This book does not offer sugar-coated solutions. In fact, you may not like the solutions that are offered because they are not easy. BUT, good health and permanent weight loss are worth the sacrifice and effort!!!If you want the knowledge of how to have permanent weight loss, then please buy the book! You won't find this information many places, so take advantage of Jennifer Jolan's research and passion to share truth with you!!

Opened my eyes!!!
After seeing all the weightloss meds available over the counter and by prescription it can get very confusing. Especially when you have tried so many and they didn't work for you like other people say it does.This book really opened my eyes on how our "Stupid Hormones" really affect weightloss. At first I found myself getting defensive but realized this was written to help me, not point a finger at people like me who have tried and failed so much over the years by eating and doing what you thought might be right.Thank you for opening my eyes. I highly recommend this book especially if you have struggled like so many of us have.

Basic information.
It really looks like they collected all the basic hormone information from wikipedia and they put it all together in a book. The pros are that it really is easy to follow and doesn't have any vocabulary or meaning that is tough to perceive. The cons are that it is quite repetitive and doesn't give any solid examples of what to eat,just general advices. Last but not least, I found some passages in the book that don't make sense and void one another.

My favourite JJ book
I have found all Jennifers books easy to read and full of helpful tips and this one is no exception - but were i to have to choose a favourite this would be it.This book really does explain your hormones, what damages them and how to fix them in Laymans terms.I really enjoyed reading it, as a seasoned dieter there were things in this book i didn't know.As the highlighted paragraphs in my book show, there are plenty of easy tips that i am fitting into my life in an attempt to fix my hormones.

Lots of the info id based on the USA stats, but the book is good im not even a book reader I not read a propa book, but in a day read over half , informative, I have not yet finished but get it anyway, just for information, im really trying to loose s nice hit of weight this helps

The worst book I've ever seen
The worst book I've ever seen. I've actually torn it apart and binned it as it not only doesn't have any value, but also treats you like an idiot and forces you to buy things from links in the internet. This book is the poorest marketing/sales cheating tool I've ever seen. DO NOT BUY IT!

There's more to hormones than one thinks!
Helps the reader understand a bit more about the complex world of hormones, but needs a lot of concentration, a prescription for hypothyroid meds may help...see your GP!

I bought the Kindle version and has read the whole book in two days.I have been dieting for ages and no results.The book is written for all of us that want to getdown to our own body mechanism and really slim down.Fantastic book and very very informative.
