LingTing Thumb Piano, an Investment of Quality and Enjoyment
The LingTing 17 Keys Thumb Piano flat board in C tone is a beautiful sounding instrument. I own two thumb pianos, the LingTing which I .prefer to play rather than the 17 Keys box style. The flat board has a soft, relaxing sound for the type of music I wish to play, whereas the box thumb piano is louder for outdoor playing. I am teaching myself; however, I would like to have some lessons. I started out having no knowledge of music, and yet was able to start playing simple songs right away. If you wish to play an instrument; if you wish to make a small investment in an instrument, I recommend LingTing 17 Keys in C. It is so easy to tune, easy in learning to play, light weight and portable, and some come with a protective case which I recommend. Anyone at any age can learn to play this instrument to one’s satisfaction. And if you want quality, LingTing is a beautiful, well sounding and quality choice.

Blown away by how amazing this kalimba is for the value.
I got the 21k in black walnut, and even though I have kalimbas three times more expensive, this is easily my favorite kalimba I own. It came with no dead or buzzy tines, and the tones are crystal clear, soft, and bell-like, just like I was hoping for. I was worried about the size, because I have small hands and other 21k models from different brands like Hluru have been uncomfortably wide and difficult to hold, and I thought the same would be true for this one, but it's the PERFECT size. It's actually more comfortable to hold and play than the 17k models I have! And the matte quality of the wood gives plenty of grip, so it never slips out of your hands. Also, I looove how soft and resonant the tines are! Other brands like hluru can have really stiff tines that make playing quickly difficult, but with this one, you barely have to brush your fingernail over the tines to make a full sound. Even in the high tines where you'd normally expect tones to sound a little plinky and dull, these have a beautiful, ringing resonance.

Great choice for a beginner or portable!
Beautiful Kalimba. Inexpensive for the great quality received. Easily portable thanks to the case included. Perfect for beginning and the sound is so beautiful and calming.

My favorite Kalimba!
I love my kalimba. Having all the different keys lets you play almost any song, without retuning. The quality of the metal and wood is very good, and the sound is much clearer and softer than the low-quality hollow kalimbas.

Nice Kalimba, Junk stickers
High quality with a nice case and a lot of goodies to go along with it. The reason for the 4 stars is the sets of stickers that come with it won’t stick at all so they are useless, which sucks for a beginner like me who doesn’t know the notes yet.

Beautiful tones
I love the sound of a quality Kalimba. It's soothing, calming and puts me in a peaceful and happy state. I looked long and hard for a 17 key kalimba. I wanted a solid board because of the superior tonality vs the box. I also didn't care about the price because sound quality was more important and none of them really break the bank. After a lot of listening to different kalimbas it came down to this one(Ling ting) and a Gecko. I noticed in a couple videos the higher keys in the gecko sounded a little "plinky" so I decided to go with this Ling Ting. I am so happy I did. Every key sounds beautiful and the quality is flawless. It has excellent quality control as the keys are all on the same level with each other(see picture) which I find to be extremely important to play well. I've been playing every day for the past couple weeks and it has brought me great joy. I highly recommend this kalimba. I got the K17A. It takes patience and practice to learn to play well, but soon you will produce beautiful music. The downside is that you really need to play with your thumb nails and if they are very short like mine, that can be challenging especially if you chip one. I wish someone would engineer a thumb pick for the kalimba, in my case big ones for guys, that worked well. The silicone picks are a joke. The silicone renders an poor sound and are very uncomfortable. Anyhow, I don't blame the kalimba for this. This is a great Kalimba and I'm sure you will love it as I do. Ps. The song Sukiyaki is easy to learn and sounds great on the kalimba. Give it a try. Thank you Ling Ting! Eric

LingTing LT-K21W the ultimate choice for Kalimba
Just received mine Kalimba from Amazon yesterday, LingTing LT-K21W, am extremely impressed by its Outstanding Quality !!! Have previously own two box type hollow-bodied kalimbas , none of it come close to compare with LINGTING . From packaging to the product , it's truely a Premium piece of musical equipment with high quality of craftmanship. Start with the body of Kalimba, the wood have a nice grain & is smoothly finished with warm and comfy visual appeal and absolutely great to feel when physically hold it in hand. its solid body makes it much heavier and its sound are much softer but lovelier & sweeter when compare to the box type hollow-bodied kalimbas. the high notes of the tines sounds beautiful and perfect . The sound by far have the most beautiful, soothing, calming and definitely apear to be most relaxing when playing songs with it. My 21 keys kalimba came properly tuned to F major. All tines resonated well, even the highest notes D and E on the side edges have no problems. It's definitely a brilliant thought out to include the tremolo chain, as compared to others more common 17-note kalimba, it tends to gives so much more possibilities in playing songs without limitations... Comes with tuning hammer, carry case, small bag , pick-up mic, sticker for notes to label on tines , wiping cloth ,tassel . Case is great quality, serve it purpose to protect the kalimba while not playing or whenever travel around with it . Overall I am very happy and highly satisfied with the instrument and would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking to shop around for kalimbas , look no further, LINGTING is the ultimate choice!

Best solid body Kalimba you’ll find on Amazon — maybe even the best Kalimba on Amazon!
If you’re shopping for your first Kalimba — or looking to upgrade — look no further. This is the best flatboard / Solid style Kalimba you will find in the 17-key, C-tuned category — better than anything from Gecko, and absolutely on par with April Yang-designed Kalimbas. The African Padauk wood (note that many seller incorrectly list it as made of African Rosewood) that this Kalimba is made of looks stellar and is a FANTASTIC tonewood that resonate and sustains notes very well. The tines play clearly and melodically all the way through the highest tines — unlike many hollow-body resonator box Kalimbas, such as those made by Gecko, which sound flat on the highest tines. This package is a great value — it comes with a hard case, a bag, thumb protectors, color stickers, note stickers, a Tremolo chain, tassel, tuning hammer, handbook with song tabs, and a piezo pickup to plug the Kalimba into an amp to play louder or record directly into a device — and more. The only cons are that this Kalimba — like ALL solid body Kalimbas — sounds quieter than a hollow body resonator style Kalimba. That’s fine though, because each note sound much more rich, sustains longer, and plays evenly across the C major scale. Another con is that the note stickers it comes with only have numbers, NOT letters. For now I’m using spare letter stickers I had sitting around, but I had to order some more from China and they will take almost a month to get here. LingTing should really consider packaging future versions of this with letter stickers. All-in-all, I’m very, VERY happy with this purchase. I recommend everyone watch video reviews of the LingTing K17A on YouTube to see it in action. 5 stars.
