Great new Multi-Process welding technology at a very affordable price ... [Review-1]
HZXVOGEN continues to lead the welding industry with up to date technology at an affordable price. Multi-process welders that incorporate MIG, TIG and Stick, and use an intuitive LCD interface for ease of set-up and operation have been around for several years now, but HZXVOGEN has this HBM2280 M-P welder at about 1/3 the price. It certainly meets it's advertised specifications and performance. Here are some highlights and notes in this initial Review:- Very Powerful and capable - Initial test welding done on 220volt, also operates on 110Volt.- LCD/Knob Interface for easy set-up and great for people new to welding. The Synergistic pre-programmed operation for the different processes will be great for people learning welding and DIY Makers.- Included a NEMA6-50P adaptor to operate on 220V - (Attached a picture of Power cord on HBM2280 and adapter)- High quality components, accessories and workmanship - The MIG Torch is heavy Duty.- Includes a bag of extra consumables for the MIG Torch.- The Manual is a good background of operation and HZXVOGEN has videos as well.- The included Graphite MIG Torch liner is supposed to make the HBM2280 Weld with an Aluminum spool instead of having a Spool Gun. I look forward to trying this out.Overall the HBM2280 is a tremendous value and brings terrific new welding capabilities down to an affordable level.

A CLEAR EYED APPROACH TO MIG WELDING
Let's start with what this machine is not. <EMPHASIS>THIS IS NOT A TIG WELDING MACHINE...</EMPHASIS> Just because you can add a scratch start TIG torch to a MIG Welder does not make it a TIG WELDER. Having said that, this is an excellent MIG and reasonable ARC welder. Now for the good stuff.1. This has metal drive rollers and is better built than most of the big blue and big red low end crap in the same category. These are industry standard rollers and are easily available. the dimensions are 30.0mm diameter x 10.0mm wide x 10.0mm bore and is keyed.Link for all three feed rollers is (just select the type and wire diameter you need; each roller has two sizes).https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089SV57HM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1V-Groove feed roller is V shaped for solid core. K-Groove feed roller is knurled for flux core. U groove is for soft wire like aluminum. The spool gun makes life easy if you are using ER4043 wire to MIG weld Aluminum. Also this spoolgun is a very very reasonable price compared to other welder spoolguns on the market.Another great positive for this machine is the Display and Synergic settings system. On my old setup, I had an Everlast MTS200 and i was always having to lookup settings for each metal and thickness. Then having to adjust these baselines to my welder. Now I just input the parameters and it automatically gives me the base settings that I can adjust if needed. I wish this was in imperial gauge but they like metric in China so just buy yourself a cheap digital caliper that auto converts the units to metric. Torch tips are dirt cheap and a great value!!! The construction quality appears good and my unit arrived well packaged and with no dents or breakage (good going Amazon)! This unit is smaller than my MTS which is a positive. Let's be honest with ourselves for a moment and realize most of us aren't professionally using this welder. Most of the buyers are DIY'rs or home welders. If you are a professional go buy a professional machine and spend a couple thousand for extreme duty cycles. This machine is very capable of laying down quality welds and even doing MIG Brazing. The very first welding I did with my unit was stick/arc welding with 6013 rods on a dirty lawnmower deck. It ran the rods fine. I highly recommend you buy some decent rods (ie Blue Demon) as that helps alot in rod performance. THIS IS NOT A 6010 STICK WELDING MACHINE!!! if you want to weld 6010 go buy a nice 6010 machine otherwise don't complain that a MIG welder isn't doing a good job using this particular rod. This runs 7018 rods very very nicely. The grounding clamp is "acceptable" but I recommend you buy a replacement when you can afford it. This has the usual chintzy cheap grounding clamp 99% of all welders under $1000 come with. The Dinze connectors are Euro so make sure to measure them before you go and order a new grounding cable or ARC/Stick holder. The ARC/Stick torch is very very generic and I recommend you immediately go buy a better unit. It is reasonable but kinda flimsy. It you are gonna stick weld then buy a better torch.... This unit comes with an additional MIG gun liner that is supposed to assist with welding aluminum by being low friction. It probably does and would be even better if you use ER5356 which is a harder aluminum MIG wire. But in my mind just buying the spoolgun which is only $150 was the easier decision. Over all this is a good machine for entry level MIG welding of Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel and MIG brazing. This machine ARC welds reasonably and doesn't cost and arm and a leg. For the price this is a very good value machine.

Multi Process, No Problem!
I wanted a better replacement fro my old reliable HF flux core that bit the dust! After much research i settled on this one and it does not diappoint! While printed instructions are not the best, the machine itself is fairly intuitive. Mine arrived without a particular item but an email was sent and a representative contacted via email to ensure the right part was sent at no cost. It was verified by the company via email before it was sent. Notification were sent via text on the shipping. Think of how far they ship items and you appreciate the companies effort to get it right.Performance wise, outstanding. Makes my mediocore welding skill look really good. So far only flux core and stick but when it's dialed in welds look great. I really enjoy the mig wand as it is large for my big hands but comfortable to use for long periods. Recommend a flux core shield in place of the large gas shield provided for flux core welding.Easily fit my budget expanding the type of welding I'm able to do in the garage. I would definitely buy Hzxvogen, (Pronounced like high vo gen) products again.

Broken
Broken. Had it for almost a year, however rarely used it. After about 1-2 hours of total weld time, the machine refuses to spin the spool motor. I got the spool gun for this welder, and that doesnt work either. I opened the machine up and diagnosed it to be the switch not getting power, the circuit board looks fine visually. Hardly used the machine and its already broken
