Official Google Cloud Certified Professional Data Engineer Study Guide

I bought this book to study for my exam and found it to be the best source of learning. It provides a well thought out organization of information, with good descriptions and examples. Be companion online resource was invaluable in preparing me for the exam. The flashcards reinforced the learning from the book. The test bank allowed me to identify areas where I still needed to focus my learning, and prepared me for the type of questions I would see on the test. I used a lot of resources to prepare for the exam, but would recommend this one as a must have.

The content is good, but the exam has evolved quite a bit in 2023-2024. I would compare the content of the book with the official exam outline to make sure that you're studying the relevant content.

I recently tested for (and passed) the Google Professional Data Engineer exam. This book is clear and well written. I found the online practice exams and online flash cards to be helpful for the exam preparation.

The material was presented in a format that is easy to follow and understand. The study guides' questions and flashcards are a great asset and really help with exam prep.I passed the Google Associate Cloud Engineer exam with a lot of studying and completing labs, and Dan Sullivan's books really assisted me on my journey to become certified. This book is excellent prep work for exams and a great resource for those looking to broaden their knowledge of the Google Cloud Platform. I Highly recommend.

Dan Sullivan is a master at delivering high quality exam study guides. While the material is difficult, Dan has been able to break down complex concepts into digestible chunks using clear and concise language. I highly recommend this text to anyone interested in expanding their knowledge of cloud computing and data engineering, as well as those pursuing a career in a cloud-based environment.

Going through this book is not only helping me understand the objectives with passing the exam but it is helping me understand how to become a better Architect which is the goal!

The book is great starting point for getting basic understanding of all the topics covered in the Data Engineer certification. You will need go thru the Google Cloud Platform documentation to get in depth understanding. The practice tests in the book are good, and the Exam Essentials section in each chapter is helpful in getting a quick recap and covering important points on each topic.

A good resource

This book is a very good introduction to Google Cloud data products as well as data engineering more generally. However, as an "Official Study Guide" for the data engineer certification it is rather inadequate. I read the book cover to cover twice and I would have definitely failed the exam had I not used other resources to supplement the preparation. I feel the book should make it clear that you will definitely need to supplement your studying with other resources in order to pass.It is probably impossible for a single book to cover everything in the exam. However, I expect an "Official Study Guide" to at least be clear about the path to success in the exam.Also, there are a few glaring mistakes in the book. (For example, on page 217 it says that underfitting "is likely caused by insufficient training data".)
