Lightweight, smells nice, leaves hair soft and shiny!
I used this product for the first time today. I have fine hair that is naturally curly and gets very frizzy and damaged. I think we can all agree from my photos that I'm overdue for a trim! I don't use shampoo or conditioner on my hair, I went "no poo" about 6 months ago. I "wash" my hair with a baking soda mixture and rinse it with an organic ACV mixture once a week. This is how I cleaned my hair today prior to using the Art Naturals product. My normal routine would be to use It's a 10 Miracle Leave-in Treatment to detangle & as a thermal protectant, rub organic cold pressed coconut oil into my ends, then let my hair air dry as much as possible. Then I would blow dry, apply CHI silk infusion serum to dry hair, then use CHI Iron Guard spray before I flat iron, and finish with some Moroccan Oil. My hair absorbs EVERYTHING and looks weighed down a lot. Today, I just used the Art Naturals thermal protectant. The spray nozzle is narrow and really only hits one spot when you spray, it doesn't "mist" which would be more desirable. I sprayed about 4 pumps into my hands, rubbed them together, and then worked the product through my hair from roots to ends. I always overuse product, and I read several reviews NOT to overuse this product bc it can make your hair sticky, etc, so I may not have used enough. I did rub some coconut oil into my ends. Since I don't use conditioner very often, if at all, the coconut oil works great to keep my ends from looking too dried out after I flat iron. Anyhow, my hair looked like a rats nest after I blew it out, which it usually does. After it was dry, I sprayed 3 more pumps of the product into my hands and worked it through my dried hair, then I flat ironed. The product smells nice and was actually really light weight. I got the impression it would be a little heavy, but my hair is shiny and bouncy and doesn't feel weighed down at all, which is excellent! I can go from using 5 products down to 3 and knock out the ones with the most chemicals. I did work some Moroccan Oil through my ends after I flat ironed. I like this product and am looking forward to seeing results after continued use AND after I get my much needed split-end trim! Photos are after blow dry & then after flat ironing.

Bonus humidity defense for curly hair
I don't write a ton of reviews, but I had to for this because I'm very impressed with how well it worked and because all curly heads will want to know this worked well for my 3a curly hair. My first day using ArtNaturals was today-a humid (and later rainy) day. I blew out my clean wet curls and used a curling iron for beach waves. I did not use any other products as I wanted to see how it did all on its own. My hair was soft, shiny and DID NOT FRIZZ! I have bangs y'all, and my bangs remained straight. That's huge for curly hair peeps! My waves stayed all day. The ONLY thing I dislike is the way the bottle is designed. The spray nozzle is not user friendly for spraying around your head. It kept coming unscrewed too... It's kind of awkward. On the other hand, the fine mist it produces is really awesome compared to all other leave-in conditioners I've tried that kinda "squirt" instead of spray. I know this is a heat protectant, but it's also a conditioner and is thick like those typically are. And I wasn't in love with the fragrance like some others are. It didn't stink or anything... Just did not smell heavenly as some have described.

don't recommend for straightening
Let's start with the good! This smells amazing. If you want something with conditioner to make your hair smell nice this might work for you. If you have hair that isn't prone to frizz and you blow dry, this is going to make your hair so soft. i have 2c-3a combination hair. Every now and then I want to straighten it. This product did not work for this activity on my hair. i tried applying it wet and air drying (smells great, might as well have done nothing), applying it and blow drying (soft, smells great, giant ball of fuzz), applying it, blow drying it, reapplying it (smells great, too sticky). It did not give me the frizz control or sleekness that I want when I spend the time to straighten my hair. It felt like I was dragging the flat iron across untreated hair. I went right back to my silicone heat spray.

Amazing product. A must have if your hair is thin and oily.

Recommended. Protects hair when using a hair dryer, makes comb the hair easy, also makes it easier to make braids once it is dry.
