Satisfied with this product
Works great lets me know all the info I need to know from how many watts my solar panels are bringing in to the percentage of the battery. the bluetooth range is decent it works up to10-12feet. The device itself is pretty small, won’t take up much if any room, It also comes with a thermometer to check the batterys temperature which was nice. The quality seems good so far. You do have to download an app to use this product but that wasn’t an issue, It was very easy to hook up to my battery and use. overall I’m pretty happy with the product

Nice product
Renogy has nice products but they lack in experienced service reps/techs, they told me to ask them any questions on how to use their devices i purchased, this was for a solar dc to dc dual input charger/controller. Told me no on my setup and that i couldn't use their device but they sold it to me anyway. I got my answer from people on Quara forums sadly and not Renogy. All i wanted to do was a standard RV with aux battery setup but i have a dc power supply/charger unit for lead acid i use for my agm bank 120amp smart charger and it works great on my setup it charges my agm bank and powers the Renogy with zero issues using the alternator side of the charger keeping the lithium separate from agm bank. Why they had to make it so hard for me to figure out is beyond me must be a script reader answering tech questions. Bad support great product, well so far it seems great.

Review of the Renogy BT-1 Bluetooth Module
This Renogy BT-1 Bluetooth Module is a must-have accessory for anyone with a compatible Renogy charge controller. It's an absolute game-changer for monitoring your solar power system. The setup is incredibly simple-it just plugs into the RJ12 port on the controller. Once connected, it syncs seamlessly with the Renogy DC Home app on your phone. This gives you instant access to all your system's data without having to be right next to the controller. You can check battery voltage, charging status, and daily energy production from anywhere. It's a huge convenience and makes managing your solar setup much easier. If you want to keep an eye on your power system without the hassle of a physical display, this module is an excellent investment.

Can be annoying
I have a Renogy charge controller and decided to get the BT module so I could monitor charge status away from the main display. The app, I am not impressed with, it can be quite annoying. I get random disconnections, have to restart it sometimes as it just freezes and a few other things, and this is not miles away, this is all within 30ft. I am sure the module is fine, it is the app that is a mess. When it works, it works, but when it does not it gets real annoying fast. Just FYI...

Plug and play, makes monitoring much easier
Quick summary: this Bluetooth adapter is simple to install, configure, and use. The information it provides to a phone is very useful and much more convenient than going and looking at the charge controller. More detailed review: I have a Renogy Wanderer 10A charge controller, 50 watt panel, and a LiFePo4 battery to provide 12V power for lighting and a small fan in my shed. I wanted to be able to check on the system and verify it was working correctly without needing to go out in the shed and directly look at the controller, so I purchased this Bluetooth adapter. Connection is simple: it uses a modular connector identical to those used in landline telephones, so it’s literally plug and play. Pairing with Bluetooth on a 2020 iPhone SE is quick and easy, as is using the app. It provides all the real-time status in a convenient and useful layout. The range is enough to go about 30 feet through the shed and house walls. I did test it up to 100 feet away with no obstructions, but it was not able to communicate with my phone at that range. I suspect the range estimates are idealized and somewhat overstated. Useful feature: if the controller’s output is set to manually switch the load on and off when the Enter button is pressed, you can remotely switch the load terminals using the app. The only downsides seem to be related to my charge controller, not the Bluetooth adapter. The controller is extremely basic and doesn’t do any internal data logging or storage at all beyond saving the settings. Thus, the only information it outputs is just the real time status, which the Bluetooth adapter faithfully transmits. The app is capable of many features that this particular controller is not, such as renaming the controller and logging historical data about power generation, consumption, battery state and voltage, etc. I presume more advanced Renogy controllers would be capable of logging and sending that data, though I wish the app would hide the fields and options that the controller doesn’t support. Bottom line: if you have a Renogy controller and want to monitor it without needing to directly look at its display, this Bluetooth adapter is the way to go. In my case, the controller cost less than the Bluetooth adapter, but getting the adapter was definitely the right choice.

Does not work without active internet connection.
*Update 2026* Renogy continues to push social features and continues to lock those devices to requiring internet access. I use the app to check my power only a few times a year and EVERYTIME I am logged out due to login expiring. That means I cannot use this device without near constant internet. I wish I had never bought any Renogy equipment. Their app claims that once you login you can use the app offline but that is simply a lie - eventually your login will expire whether you are online or offline. It does not matter and then you will not be able to use their app until you get back online to login. This does not workwithout a working internet connection. If you create an account the app claims that it will work over Bluetooth, and won’t require you to login again. This is a LIE. I just turn on the app after successfully setting it up a few months ago. The app said Token failed and requires me to login. If I were out camping I would be dead in the water. This also means it will fail to work once their servers go offline. You don’t need auth to read me the battery status. I camp once a month and it has never stayed connected. This last time it was working fine for a few minutes and despite my phone having no internet it logged me out in the middle of using it. And, of course, I could not login since I had no internet. Do not buy. Return if you still can. Rent claims they have updated the app to not require an internet connection but this too is a lie. They require that you are logged in, and your login token can expire while you are offline which leaves you no way to use the app when off grid.

Feel a little misled and salty
Just my personal experience with the three charge controllers I bought from them: Started with one of those little cheap starter Renogy PWM controllers. After a while I was frustrated not knowing how much power I was making, what my voltages were at, or where my batteries were. Saw some add for the Bluetooth feature (BT1) with a better controller, so I upgraded to the cheapest model that had the Ethernet port (wanderer) and also bought the Bluetooth module and thermometer. Like this, it worked alright. Never had any issues with connectivity like some other people did. Showed me how much power my panels made, all my voltages, everything I wanted to know. Except this cheaper controller has no load terminals so there was no way to monitor loads. In addition to this, the battery capacity monitor was completely useless save for the current voltage, some nights 12.5v would read 100% charged, some nights 12.6v would read 45% charged. Go figure. So I decided to spend the $140 on the MPPT controller (rover) to be able to monitor loads through the app too. Well this is where it went to garbage. The load shows wild swings on watts and amps. Ill put on a known constant 100w load, and one second it will read 2w, the next 5w, then it’ll read 130w, then 280w, then 500w and it’ll shut down the load because it was ‘overdrawn’. All the while the load never drew more or less than 100w. All connections are tight and wires are solid copper and well overgauged. If it doesn’t overdraw and shut down, it continues to jump from hundreds of watts and 17-22amps, to 1-15 watts at almost no amps. While this is happening the solar power also starts wildly swinging around - jumping a few hundred watts every second when there is straight sun, should be consistent power. This causes the voltages and amps I’m producing to swing around, and makes me think this “95% efficacy” or whatever mppt is actually closer to 50-60% because I constantly have loads running. A total waste of spending untimely over $200 for a trio of devices that don’t do what I bought them to do, and what they are advertised to do. I’d ask for my money back but unfortunately can’t wait a week without power while I ship them back and wait for something else - at least they still manage to change up my battery. Save your money, go with Literaly any other brand that offers bluetooth, or better yet Ethernet monitoring. I’ve consistently experience problems with these models and the bluetooth, and some quick online searches confirm that many, many people have these same exact issues. Literaly go with anything else, it’s guaranteed to be more reliable. I really wish I still had that $200 in my pocket to put towards a decent mppt that does it all in one, instead it hangs on my breaker wall as a bad taste in my mouth because the features I bought it for are absolutely useless.
