101 Christmas Songs Cello Sheet Music Songbook | Holiday Classics for Beginners Intermediate Players | Includes Silent Night Jingle Bells White Christmas Joy to the World

I bought this for my 6th grader with the hopes that it would both encourage her to practice more and make practice more fun. It succeeded at both. Seems like the right level of difficulty. Plenty of easy songs and a few that are more challenging, but nothing unapproachable.There are two things, however, that I wish were added. The first is the lyrics to the songs. I know most people don't sing and play cello at the same time, but the big selling point here is the familiarity of the music, and having the lyrics would help with timing and overall playability. The second is chord names above the staff. That simple addition would enable me to easily accompany her on the piano, which again makes for better practices. A somewhat related complaint is that many of the songs are in a different key as the ones in the Real Christmas Book - another Hal Leonard publication. That would solve the accompanying problems.

Why would you create a Christmas song book without the lyrics?!?!? I’m trying to help my 5th grader get inspired about her cello. It was so hard to find a cello Christmas song book that had all the classics that weren’t religious leaning. So frustrating. Please reprint with lyrics.

Nice to have around to entertain family during the holidays. Good pieces, super accessable to beginner or intermediate players. Great sight reading resource.
