Special pliers for removing and reinstalling wire seal at front of LG washing machine.
This special pair of pliers worked perfectly, saved time, and eliminated a lot of possible frustration removing the clamp wire that holds the washing machine front rubber gasket in place. The wire seal has a small coiled spring about 3 inches long at the bottom. The pliers have two round tangs that fit into the holes at each end of the spring. When squeezing the handle of the pliers, that stretches the spring, making the wire seal slack and easy to remove. Same thing when reinstalling the wire seal.

Works great...fast and easy
This tool is a life saver! The spring fell off our LG washing machine a day before Christmas Eve. Wife and I spent about 2 hours trying to get it back on, after watching several YouTube videos. Very frustrating, just kept popping off. There was a link to this item in one of the videos so I ordered it, arrived the next day around noon. Took less than 10 seconds to get it back using this tool! I think it took longer to open the package it came in. I was a little weary about ordering it at first, since Amazon says it's a frequently returned item, I thought maybe that's because it doesn't work well. But it worked great for us, maybe people use it once and return it because they don't need it anymore. But for about ten dollars I'm definitely keeping it so I'll be ready if the spring falls off again or need a new one.

Works well
Works well enough but could be better if a bit longer and spread out a bit further. Our LG door gasket needed replaced and these are WAY cheaper than the LG branded ones sold at the appliance center.

Worked on my leg all in one
There was NO way I was getting the spring back on without this tool after having to change out a pump. It took maybe 10 minutes tops to figure out and get the spring back on. It’s necessary and cheap.

Dont purchase unless you plan to modify to function for purpose.
These pliers were described on Amazon as required to assist in the removal of front loading clothes washer door gaskets, specifically, the Bosch 300 series. I They arrived well within the advertised time frame. However, in my 60+ years of handling tools of all sorts/fields, I've never come across a more-crudely tool/device. It appears to be 'hand-crafted' exhibited by the hammer-marks and vice marks and rough finish. I can forego those discrepancies, but the return spring is not strong enough to push the jaws apart, the jaws are misaligned, the pivot pin is oozing some sort of very black liquid (other than crude oil I've never seen a lubricant this color), and most-disturbing - the jaw tips are too large to fit into the spring that encircles the door gasket and the jaws don't open wide enough to perform the very functions they were supposedly designed for! Save your money - try using a simple string to pull the spring ends apart enough to fit around the gasket. Am returning mine.

It kind of works.
This tool works well on the outer boot spring clamp of the LG front loading washer but unfortunately it does not work well on the inner boot spring clamp. I don't know why LG made the two boot spring clamps differently. The outer spring clamp has an extension spring fit into the wire clamp that has loops at the end that actually fit the tips of the clamp expansion tool very well. The inner boot clamp is a completely different story, the clamp had a loop and hook on one end of the spring clamp and just a loop on the other end of the spring. The two opposing clamp loops on the inner spring boot clamp are too far from one another to use the tool to expand the clamp spring using the clamp loops and the tool's tips are too big to fit into the loops of the spring (not the loops of the wire clamp, the loops of the spring) and allow the wire clamp hook and loop ends to fit in at the same. I watched a video and the repair technician uses the LG spring compression tool with tips that are much thinner and offset at 90 degrees. The LG tool compresses the the clamp on one end of the inner boot clamp expanding the spring to one side instead of trying to stretch the spring at both ends where this tool doesn't have the reach or fit, like it does with the front outer boot clamp. In order to make this spring expansion tool work on the I had to modify the spring on the inner boot clamp and open the spring ends from closed loops to open hooks which weakens the clamp slightly. Both tools are needed because I don't see how the LG tool would work on the front outer boot spring clamp. It was really stupid for LG to make the inner and outer boot sprig clamps different from one another. Unfortunately I did not compare the diameter of both the inner and outer boot spring clamps to see if the inner clamp could be substituted with buying and using an extra outer boot spring clamp which costs only about $10 instead of buying the LG tool which costs almost $60.

The main tool needed to repair anything on your washer drum.
They actually work really good. It's better than fighting a screw driver. You'll need these puppies anytime you're working on your washer drum and other brands of washers. Have fun!
