Controlling salt intake
I'm watching my sodium intake & have used several different flavors of Kitchen Basics Unsalted broths. I feel more confident when cooking because I'm the one controlling any added salt. It's good, it's reasonable enough, & just plain convenient. In a pinch or short notice, I've got something I can use to whip up numerous dishes.

Wholesome and full flavored
This is a dark and flavorful vegetable stock with no added salt, sugar, or oil. It is the only vegetable stock or broth that I can find locally that meets these three criteria. (Note that the organic version of this product does contain oil.) I use it for soups and stews and for a fat-free sauté medium.I find it is too dark for dishes that need a lighter taste or color. For example, if used in red lentil soup, the soup tastes good, but it is brown rather than yellow.When my grocery store ran out of this product and did not refill it, I bought it here. Missing one star because one of the boxes was damaged on arrival and had to be discarded. Otherwise this product is a good value.

Homemade soups need this
I made a bean soup without this broth because I ran out, and it didn't taste nearly as good as when I use this broth. The flavor is much improved with this broth and the fact that it is low sodium without losing any of the taste, makes it a necessary addition to so many cooked dishes.
