Sirocco (The Compass Projects)

If you like winged people, government projects, and the smell of open desert air with a clear blue sky, this is the book for you. The characters are beautifully written, the worldbuilding is the best I've seen since Brandon Sanderson's Oathbringer, and the plot is, though short, absolutely breathtaking. 10/10, would buy again.
