Good read with a very happy ending.guess this must happy a d be very destructive to the family and every one related to the person envolved.

I have read many of John Grisham books and yet again I really enjoyed this one. The storyline and its characters were believable but other for the ending, which left a few unanswered questions, I would have given this 5 stars.

Love John Grisham books they always keep one guessing to the end of the plot. Roll on the next one.

I, like millions of others, have been an avid fan of John Grisham and have read much of his work. This novel was extremely moving. The story was enthralling whilst at the same time highlighting the deficiencies of a judicial system that apparent legal sages are still comfortable implementing to establish guilt or innocence, as if the process is obviously beyond reproach. This subject is something the author regularly inserts in his story telling and I commend him for doing so At times I felt a little foolish for getting upset at the prevailing frustrating injustice that the story told. Tearing up over a work of fiction? How silly. So when I read Grisham's comments at the end of the novel i.e. that the story was based on someone still incarcerated after thirty years despite overwhelming evidence of his innocence, the novel became all the more poignant to me. A brilliant book that skillfully portrays the legal injustices that society idly accepts. An apathy that most can afford to adopt because they probably haven't fallen foul of the system. Much respect to you Mr. Grisham. You tell a fine story and you have 'backbone'. Thank you for your continued efforts to bring this flawed legal process to the fore.

Really interesting plot. As always, well written by Mr Grisham. Sad to learn of the reality of such cases, but nice to know clever selfless people help out

Gripping

I like a book that hold my attention from chapter one. This one did not. On the other hand I wouldn't put a book down at the stage. I persevered but it turned out to be one of my longest reads (all authors.)

Great read

A very interesting and readable story which gave me an idea of people who are judged incorrectly. Let me believe that someone put in jail when they are innocent can get help and be released.

John Grisham's Bücher waren schon immer "page turner" - hochspannend von Anfang an. Die Tatsache, dass wahre Geschichten, verarbeitet sind machen sie oft auch lehrreich zugleich. Das Rechtssystem in den USA entscheidet oft über Leben und Tod. Die hohe Zahl von fälschlicherweise Verurteilte die hierdurch leiden und sterben müsste den korrupten Ermittlungen / Prozessen längst vielmehr einen Riegel vorschieben. Man gewinnt jedoch den Eindruck, dass dies in keiner Weise gewollt ist. Umso dankbarer bin ich für Autoren wie John Grisham, die diese Geschichten offenlegen, sie auch noch gut verpacken um sie mehr Lesern zugänglich zu machen und die Aufmerksamkeit damit geschickt auf die bestehenden Missstände lenken. Das Buch ist ganz offensichtlich ebenso brillant recherchiert wie geschrieben und trotz der traurigen Hintergründe sehr empfehlenswert.

Veramente intrigante come sempre. Storia semplice ma narrata con maestria. Presa da storia vera.

An interesting, fast paced read which covers a lot of ground. The story lines are good and ring true to the real world. Truly enjoyable.

I really did enjoy this book it is fast very interesting and for me one of John Grisham best .just couldn’t put it down
