When I received this box, everything (including the directions) was locked inside. Fortunately, I was able to guess the combination (000) and open it. Other than the initial confusion, I am very happy with this box. All of my knives fit inside. My biggest knife is 14" long and 2" wide, and it had no problem. If you have a lot of knives with thick handles, you may have difficulty fitting them all. The box comes with the combination lock installed, and the combination is easy to set to whatever you want. The lock works smoothly so far, but I just got it, so I don't know how it will hold up over time. The box looks nice, and seems well made. I am surprised that I couldn't find many products available to lock up knives, since I imagine we aren't the only family with a need to keep knives away from members with mental health struggles. Ideally, I would have liked a box with a fingerprint lock for quick access while cooking. The orientation of the combination is awkward, and would be difficult to enter the combination while the box is in a drawer, since you have to look at it from the side. I intend to keep it on my counter.

This worked out to be a good buy. Originally we wanted to put this into an upper cabinet, but we realized we'd have to move it to see what we're grabbing each time. This is best on a countertop or within a drawer, but it is pretty large so make sure you clear some room. If you put it in a drawer, you'll need to clear some room for when the sliding door opens as well. I really liked how you could adjust the interior so that it could fit knives of various sizes. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is that sometimes the sliding door sticks.

This box is a $40 joke, only I'm not laughing. It's flimsy a toddler can open it while it locked, and worst of all it definitely wouldn't hold my knives with the wooden blocks in there. With blocks in it held 4 knives, standard kitchen knives because the handles of the knives, but with the blocks out I can fit 9 knives, that are just laying in an over priced wooden box. Definitely don't recommend this thing, your better off buying an actual lock box

This bamboo knife case with lock does what it’s supposed to do. Combination Lock is easy to operate. Holds all of our sharp knives, including chefs knife. Easy to wipe down when needed. Fits in lower cabinet getting it off the sink.
