Perfect for additional coverage of dressings and protection from exposure!
The 3 inch width of tubular stockinette is great for keeping the gauze dressings on my arm in place and protected. I wear it on my arm (from wrist to upper arm). For reference, the circumference of my wrist is almost 7 inches and the widest part of my arm is almost 14 inches, and this stockinet was comfortable to wear. From my experience there's no compression on my arm due to this product, which is perfect for me since I wanted coverage and protection (instead of compression). It's more like I'm wearing a flexible, form-fitting long sleeved shirt. The stockinette stretches generously but since there's no true compression, multiple uses or overly extended wear of the same piece may lead to a fit that's too loose. The stockinette stays in place for the most part; the end on my upper arm will occasionally slide down with movement but it's not too much of an inconvenience to pull it back up.I have a healing infection on my arm and this is my current process:- clean and prep the site- apply gauze pads and secure in place with medical tape or coban wrap- cut the tubular stockinette to size and wear like a long sleeve from wrist to upper armThe amount of product is generous and in the 2 weeks or so since I began to use it, I've only used about 1/3 of the stockinette roll. I change the stockinette on my arm twice daily to make sure it is clean and free from drainage that may seep through the wound dressings. Although I suppose I could hand wash these (or place in a netted bag on a gentle wash cycle) and hang dry to get more use out of them and extend the life of the roll. Since the stockinette is cut to size with scissors for each new use, fraying does occur at the raw edge but one might be able to pre-cut the necessary lengths of material and sew the raw edges for neater appearance and reuse after washes.I wish there was a sterile version of this product available. Or at least if Medline would consider wrapping the stockinet itself in a sealed bag (or if the outer box was sealed by Medline with shrink wrap). I received a clean product box with the rolled stockinette tube inside, but the lid of the box had come undone in transit (there was no tape to secure the box shut). The stockinette was exposed a bit inside of Amazon's packaging, so having these wound dressings in something better sealed from outside elements would make me feel more at ease. I ended up unrolling and cutting off about 24 inches of material before I used the wrap to cover my arm.Overall 4.5 stars and I'd still buy again if necessary!

ONE TIME USE ONLY
This item is not reusable. Even rinsing in cold water shrunk it to half its size. Word of caution - if this is your first time using items like this, you'll want to cut a sample one to determine the correct length. The stockinette is narrow so you need to allow for expansion and cut it longer than the length you think you need. Better to have extra length that can be folded over than to be short on length.Next time I'm ordering the washable ones. Initially they may cost more but in the long run, they'll be cheaper.

Love this product
I purchased this as my dog had a sore under her eye which required her to wear a cone so she could not scratch her eye. This fabric was soft yet strong to secure the cone on her neck. When it got dirty I would just cut a new piece and change it out. Sometimes you have to think outside of the box.

Game Changer For Walking Boot!
Having to wear a walking boot for a few weeks (I hope only a few weeks), I went home with one of these and thought I could simply use socks in the following days. I found my toes cramped and the top of the boot rubbing uncomfortably. I put the original tube liner on and realized that a loose fitting very long tube actually lined my walking boot much better than any sock I could wear. So I bought this 25 yard roll. I cut off a longer length than I think I need... it gets shorter when I put it on, and have it hang over my toes (then i fold it under loosely) and the top of the boot. This is so much better than socks! I will try to throw the used ones in the wash but for now I will just cut off a new piece each day. Soft, stretchy, great liner for my walking boot.

Works great and this is a lot
I wasn't paying too much attention to how much this was so I was kind of surprised when I got it that it is actually a great length. I bought this for home use as I just needed to make one small splint cast, and I think I have a lifetime supply now. I'm going to have to look up some other uses for this since I'm not going to be making this many casts. But for its intended purpose of making a medical cast this worked perfectly. And it's surprisingly cheap considering how much you get. Overall pretty awesome and no complaints.

Soft, thin, very stretchy, no compression
I broke my ankle, had ankle surgery, and am wearing a Breg boot up to my knee. When I got the boot, I was given two compression tube socks (no toes) measuring 3" wide when flat, so I ordered the 3" stockinettes, which measure 3" wide when flat, as well.- The fabric is soft and fits fairly ok, but there is a lot of give.- They're very stretchy and do NOT offer compression.- The fabric is thinner than a t-shirt.- They do work as something, although not much, to keep between you and your boot.As far as sizing, I think the 2" might work better for me. I'm 5'1", 125 lbs. and, as noted, had 3" compression "tube socks" from the doctor.

Great Walking Boot Liner!
I am not sure why others gave this product a poor review. I broke my leg a few weeks ago and just got moved from a splint to a removable walking boot. This product is perfect for a cut to length sock that you can put wear under the walking boot. The quality is perfectly fine. The material is exactly what you expect. It is comfortable and durable enough for its intended purpose. Just cut it to length with scissors and use what you need. 25 meters should last quite a while.Don’t let the negative reviews confuse you. If you are like me with a broken leg, this is the product that you need.
